The CR18P is a staple of the Hobby Plus brand. Just two years into the platform, we are on our 3rd iteration due to the constant evolution of the 1/18 crawler market. Our customers’ feedback along with a lofty desire to stay at the forefront of the market, these refinements create an exciting new package that propels the CR18P, yet again, to a top contender in the 1/18 market and all at a lower price!

The heart of any crawler has to be the power system. Let’s face it, without a strong/ dependable/flexible power system the experience of the chassis would not be as enjoyable. This is why we’ve partnered with Hobbywing pushing the voltage range from 2S and 3S. This is a huge update as the 3S capable system offers an array of power options for different driving styles, terrain and so forth.

Another key upgrade to the V3 is 27% underdrive in the rear axle through the ring and pinion gear. Some may consider the front axle as overdrive in this case, naturally, as that’s the common language used. Technically they’re right, but we call it underdrive as the front axle is the same gearing as the 2024 version. All this to say that the faster rotation of the front drive and slower rotation of the rear drive creates more “suction” to the surface below creating a more planted, predictable and capable ascents.

Lastly, and probably the most attractive new feature of the CR18P V3, is the price. At just $159.99 MAP for a complete RTR portal axle, full metal gear brushless scale crawler, this might be the most compelling ready-to-run scale crawler on the market.
