Dodge steering sucks. It's weak, flimsy and does poorly in lifted applications. Some improvements were made when Dodge switched to T-style steering but it still is inferior. Apex Chassis are Dodge guys and they know your pain so they build the last steering linkage setup you'll ever need. A direct replacement extreme duty Tie Rod and Drag Link assembly to replace your underperforming OE steering. Oversized tie rod and drag link ends, connected by massive DOM tubes, eliminates death wobble and tightens up steering under the most extreme conditions. Weak adjusting sleeves are replaced via tie rod and drag link ends threading directly into the connecting rods, secured by jam nuts, Apex's proprietary ninja lock-washers, and ProLock washers.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Track Bars: Does NOT work with BDS track bar. Does work with Carli and Thuren track bars.
  • Your OE Steering Stabilizer Clamp will not fit this Tie Rod. Requires Steering Stabilizer Clamp DC1.75-B (black universal clamp) or DC1.75-Z (zinc universal clamp) for mount in center tie rod, or other suitable 1.75" ID clamp for our steel equipment. If you choose the aluminum kits you'll need a DC2.0-Z (zinc universal clamp), DC2.0-B (black universal clamp) or a 2" ID clamp.
  • PSC gearbox replacement – fully compatible with this steering kit.
  • Dodge note regarding dual stabilizers kits: Due to our oversized tie rod ends, modifications may need to be made to dual stabilizer kit, tie rod end brackets to fit.
  • 2013 Dodge Ram 3500's were a split year for production. The early model trucks use the T-style steering (drag link is attached to the Tie Rod). The late model trucks use cross over steering (Drag link is attached to the knuckle and does not attach to the Tie Rod). Please check what style you have before ordering.
  • Not compatible with Rough Country Dual Steering Stabilizer.

HOUSING

  • SAE 1045 Solid Steel Forged Housing: This is unequivocally the best carbon alloy steel for this application.
  • CNC Machined Housing: Make their parts and bearings dimensionally perfect, eliminating any die wear issues.

BALL STUDS

  • SAE 4140 hot forged Chromoly Ball Studs: For the strongest possible metallurgy.
  • Induction Heat Treated Ball Studs: Provides a very precise heat treatment to the exact depth and location we want it.
  • Rolled Threads: Are made by pressing the shape of the threads into the ball stud instead of cutting. This strengthens the threads instead of weakening them and allows for easy movement of hardware. This ain't no Ikea furniture!
  • Step Threads: allows for very easy movement of hardware on install and superior holding when torqued (installer choice).

BEARING DESIGN

  • Rugged Metal to Metal Bearing

BOOTS

  • CR Rubber Boots: The most durable material for undercar applications. Resistant to deterioration from road level ozone, oil/gas/engine fluids and extreme heat or cold
  • Accordion Boot: Ideal for high-articulation components, more flexibility means longer life.

FINISH

  • DOM Steel: Matte Black Powder Coat
  • Polished Aluminum: Raw polished finish
  • Black Aluminum: Anodized black finish

HARDWARE

  • Grade 8 - Class 10.9 Hardware: Superior tensile strength.
  • Castle Nut: Industry standard where high vibration loads occur.

ADJUSTING RODS

  • Tie Rod: 2" DOM SAE 1020 Tube: Heavy walled steel tubing provides the tightest most robust steering on the market.
  • Drag Link: 1.75" DOM SAE 1020 Tube: Heavy walled steel tubing provides the tightest most robust steering on the market.
  • Tie Rod: 2.125" 7075-T6 Aluminum Rod: The best aluminum available for this application. Extremely durable but has some flex and memory if you really bash it into something.
  • Drag Link: 2" 7075-T6 Aluminum Rod: The best aluminum available for this application. Extremely durable but has some flex and memory if you really bash it into something.

LUBRICATION

  • Pre threaded Zerk Housing: If you have ever installed a MOOG Ball Joint without a pre-threaded zerk fitting you will understand what a simple but great feature this is. Another installer fav.
  • Greaseable: Because it should be.
  • Gull Winged Grease Grooves: Allows for improved lubrication disbursement around the ball stud.

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • ProLock Link Connect System (TM): Exclusively from APEX - This patent pending system utilizes a precision keyway cut into the threads of our tie rod ends, and a pre-bent keyway washer that locks onto the wrench flats of the connecting rod to completely stop any tie rod rotation once the jam nut is set. The jam nut, once torqued to spec, is then locked in place with 3 set-screws inset into the jam nut.
  • Pre Bent Ninja Washers (tm): An APEX exclusive is our Ninja Washer which is a unique method of securing the lock nut to the tube, erasing the need for lightly built adjusting tubes with ugly pinch clamps. And who doesn't want a ninja on their front end!
  • Greaseable, High Articulation Spherical Bushing: For extreme durability our passenger side tie rod is fitted with an oversized greaseable high articulation spherical bushing. This allows for maximum articulation and load disbursement, for better performance, and longer life.
  • Minimum Engagement Mark on Drag Link End Threads: If this mark in the thread of the drag link is showing it means you are beyond the safe engagement of threads into the adjusting sleeve. You may be lifted too high and need to switch to a flip kit or you may need to equal out the adjusting sleeve between the two ends.

Best vent mounting solution for tacoma
Style: Magnetic Charger Mount
This is a must have for Tacoma owners. It's a secure lock into the vent frame and does not affect your ability to open and close vent. Installation takes a minute.

Misleading description
Style: Magnetic Mount
Misleading. It does affect the vent. You cannot turn the vent at all and it cannot be closed 100%. About 95% closed. Seems very well built and sturdy however, I wish I knew that you cannot turn the vent… Not sure how I feel about that, I may return it.

Happy after aggravating install!
Style: Magnetic Mount, Style: Magnetic Mount
Works now that I finally got it to hold. Otherwise would have given it 5 stars. The air vent ‘lip’ on my 2018 Tacoma is so short so not much for this to clamp on to. This was hard to install. Instructions didn’t have anything about putting the parts together and extra cushion pieces. I watched the video and it was like mine once I got it to hold. I tried with one layer then added a layer then removed added layer and then finally got it to hold! Maybe 10 tries! Now that it’s holding it’s perfect! I left it unscrewed just a little tiny bit so can move the phone view around a little. Happy now! Build quality: It seems to be pretty strong and will last my truck’s lifetime.  Phone mount: Like that it is strong magnet holder and not bulky Ease of installation: Not easy. Kept not staying attached then finally just got it. I don’t know magic trick but was just about to give up then it caught the small lip and held tight. Ever other attempt kept popping off as I tightened it down.  Value for money: I think at $39.99 was a little high but hopefully last one I ever buy.

Solid iPhone Holder
Style: Magnetic Mount
I’ve been searching for a phone holder that doesn’t take up one of the drink holders and actually works well. I had been eyeing a vent mounted holder but was hesitant until I found this one. It had good reviews and was designed to work with my Tacoma. I decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to assemble, fit perfectly, secured nicely, and held my phone in place even in bumpy conditions. The vent location puts it in a good alignment with my vision which is especially helpful when I’m using my navigation app. If you’ve been looking for a decent, reasonably priced, well-built iPhone holder, this is an excellent choice!
