It was clear that the trio - myself, Jim and Jeff - were onto something. And then we met Tara. She and I played together at an improvised music night and, for about 45 seconds during one of the pieces, a new path became clear. So Tara joined the band. The new line-up felt alive and direct. So an approach to songwriting that had become abstract snapped into focus. I think these are the best songs I've written and the best group I've been in. The music and ideas we've always wanted to communicate are alive but we've shifted; moved into a parallel universe. The heat warps." Jack Cooper"
