The Carli Backcountry shock package is designed for Dodge Ram 2500/3500 owners seeking the best ride on and off-road quality on a budget; basically, the shocks for those that want to have a little dirt-road fun in their 8,500lb truck without losing the on-road ride quality or usability for which the truck was designed. You’re no longer limited to the highway while gravel roads become uninteresting as you can drive them at speed with one hand on the wheel. These shocks will be a touch softer on-road than a Carli Pintop with an impressive off-road capability for a 2.0″ shock.

Shock Construction
Both the Internal Reservoir (IFP) and Remote Reservoir shocks share the same high-quality construction. The shock body is crafted from 6063 aluminum, ensuring exceptional heat dissipation and durability, with an anodized finish for corrosion resistance. The 5/8" shafts are made from hardened, chrome-plated steel for superior strength and longevity. To optimize performance across a wide temperature range, these shocks are filled with premium 5WT oil, balancing lubricity and consistent damping characteristics.

Stem-Top Bushings
Carli Suspension has a deep appreciation for high-quality bushings. While the industry often favors polyurethane bushings, Carli has long measured performance against the original rubber bushings from Bilstein. In an eyelet-style shock, polyurethane performs well, but for stem-top designs, rubber bushings have proven superior in handling stress and longevity. As a result, these Carli Spec Shocks feature rubber bushings, eliminating a common failure point and enhancing durability.

Rod Ends & Cylinder End Cap
The rod ends are precision-machined from 6061 billet aluminum and incorporate high-quality one-piece bushings with zinc-plated crush sleeves for a secure and long-lasting fit. The cylinder end cap features a unique design that overlaps the shock body, reinforcing the internal snap ring for added structural integrity. These shocks also serve as travel limiters for trucks without Carli's radius arms and limit straps, ensuring they remain intact under extreme conditions.

Remote Reservoir
The Remote Reservoir variant includes a separate canister housing the dividing piston and nitrogen charge, maximizing the available shock body volume for extended piston travel. Compared to an IFP shock of the same mounting dimensions, this design allows for increased suspension travel. Carli has also selected premium hoses and fittings that exceed the quality of previous Fox shock offerings, drawing inspiration from the King shock line.

Premium Finishing Touches
To complete the package, Carli Suspension includes billet, laser-etched Carli reservoir clamps where applicable. In front applications, the longer reservoir hose allows for mounting on the frame or coil bucket using a Carli-specific bracket. Rear configurations favor a piggyback-style mounting. These CNC-machined clamps ensure both a refined aesthetic and optimal functionality, maintaining the high standards expected from the Carli brand.
