A rare and evocative antique mourning ring, designed in a classic Georgian style, and rich with history and sentiment.

Created in 9 carat gold, the ring features a beautifully proportioned rectangular central panel, giving the piece a distinctive and elegant presence. At its centre sits a glazed compartment containing a lock of hair, a deeply personal and intimate memorial to a lost loved one.

Encircling this is a delicate halo of alternating sized pearls, their soft lustre symbolising tears and remembrance. This is a poignant and enduring motif in antique mourning jewellery. Beyond this lies a surrounding field of blue enamel, adding a serene and slightly unusual tonal contrast that enhances the feel of the ring.

The ring is completed with classic Georgian style shoulders, lending the piece a timeless and balanced aesthetic. On the reverse, a beautiful original engraved inscription reads:
“In Memory of Mr George Roake Obit 16th Aug 1833 Aged 44”. A heartfelt dedication that firmly anchors the ring in the early 1800's and offers a glimpse into the life it commemorates.

A remarkable and deeply sentimental piece. This ring carries both emotional weight and historical significance, making it a meaningful addition to any collection of mourning or antique jewellery.

Beautiful high quality book
Format: Hardcover
This book is just what I wanted. It is very high quality: heavy paper, book sleeve, many photos. The book is about the museum: its development, architecture, design, configuration and exhibits.

Great Experience !
Format: Hardcover
Received this book as it was described - in new condition! I ordered the book the American way (at the last moment and OMG I need this tomorrow for a gift mode - LOL) and this seller was sooooooo accomodating. Before he had written consent that I would pay extra for postage, he had mailed it. Of course i paid a little extra - well worth it- thank you sooooo much! The book was a huge surprise for the person I gifted it to and so thank you again for allowing me to give it to her on her special day! I would do business with them again!
