Let's admit it, the majority of us don't take our trucks off-road, and in the rare occurrences we do, we are usually going pretty slow. If you've come to that reality, why would you want to install a performance suspension system? Well, that answer is quite simple....the ride. Heavy-duty trucks ride rough, doesn't matter what anyone says. Sure, they've gotten better over the years, but they're still neck-jarring when you slam into deep potholes, especially when the truck is unloaded. Carli Suspension has engineered a suspension system for the daily drivers, introducing the COMMUTER 2.0 featuring Carli-SPEC 2.0" IFP Shocks.

With the lift provided by the coils and the extended travel of the shocks, it's imperative the front sway bar be addressed. For this, we offer two options. The Carli Sway Bar End links provide a longer link (utilizing the factory upper pillow bushing) allowing for reuse of the factory sway bar. This System has been optimized for use with the Torsion Sway Bar; this sway bar upgrade is a HUGE ride quality upgrade. Maintaining the factory sway bar through use of the Sway Bar Links is only recommended for customers requiring the stiff rate of the factory sway bar - i.e.: those with snow-plows, in-bed campers or who are constantly hauling to the capacity of the truck.

SWAY BAR OPTIONS:
  • Extended Sway Bar End Links: Replacement end links that are built substantially stronger than factory end links and are adjustable. To determine whether you will need the 10mm or 12mm end links, the 10mm option will have an end link nut size of 15mm and the 12mm will be 18mm. Merely put a socket or end wrench over your factory sway bar to confirm.
    • 10mm Fitment: 15mm or 16mm Upper Sway Bar Link Nut
    • 12mm Fitment: 18mm Upper Sway Bar Link Nut
    • In-house Machined 17-4 Stainless STeel
    • 1/2" FK Chromoly Rod-End
    • For Control Arm Trucks with 0-3" of Front Lift / 2010-2013 Ram
    • For Control Arm Trucks with Sway Bar Drop of Front Lift / 2003-2013
  • Torsion Sway Bar:
    • Complete Replacement Sway Bar that Allows the Axle to Move Freely
    • Best option for use with Commuter 2.0 System
    • Allows Front Suspension to Move Freely Without Giving Up Control
    • For Trucks with 0-3" of Front Lift
    • Requires Removal of Electronic Sway Bar on Power Wagons
    • Torsion Bar May Be Black or Silver Zinc; Depends on Supply-Chain Availability. Not Requestable.
The Commuter System has been optimized for use with the Full Progressive Leaf Springs. This system is also compatible with the Progressive Add-a-Packs but there will be a notable ride quality difference on and off-road. Selecting "NO Rear Leaf Spring Selection" will result in an unknown ride quality and height result as all Carli Systems are optimized to either the Add-a-Pack or Progressive Leaf Springs. *The HD Options is ONLY for those running a CONSTANT 1,000lbs in the bed at all times.*

LEAF SPRING OPTIONS:
  • Progressive Add-A-Pack:
    • Replaces Rear, Lower Overload Spring for Increased Ride Quality
    • 1" Lift Matches to Carli 3" Front Systems
    • Includes U-Bolts and Center Pins
  • Full Progressive Spring Pack:
    • Capable of 15" of Wheel Travel
    • Will Reduce Payload Capacity by 15%
    • 2" Rear Lift Maintains Slight Rear Height Stance with Carli 3" Systems
    • Softens Initial Spring Rate at Ride Height
    • Minimizes Axle Wrap / Wheel Hop
    • Reduces Payload to "Light" 3/4-ton capacity
    • Fits 4" Axle Tube
  • Heavy Duty Full Progressive Spring Pack
    • Capable of 15" of Wheel Travel
    • Designed for Trucks with 1500 lbs. in Bed At All Times
    • 2" Rear Lift Maintains Slight Rear Height Stance with Carli 3" Systems
    • Softens Initial Spring Rate at Ride Height
    • Minimizes Axle Wrap / Wheel Hop
    • Fits 4" Axle Tube

The Commuter 2.0 system is designed for people seeking the best on-road ride quality on a budget. The mono-tube, internal reservoir, Carli SPEC 2.0 boasts 6063 Aluminum construction, anodized body for corrosion resistance, 5/8″ hardened steel chrome plated shaft, full serviceability & rebuildability, and are built with 1-piece bushings in the 6061 billet rod-ends. These shocks are spec’d with a premium 5WT oil to balance lubricity, consistent damping, and the widest available range in temperature variation.

The Details: Your truck will sit 2.5”-3” higher in the front (year/cab configuration dependent) with 50% more suspension travel than the factory platform thanks to the taller, lighter rate coil springs. The rear is lifted 1”-2” via the customer’s choice of a Progressive Add-A-Pack or Full Progressive Leaf Pack. The Progressive Add-A-Pack maintains load capacity and replaces the factory overload with a 5-Leaf, progressive pack that changes the final rate of the spring pack keeping the rear planted while increasing traction and predictability. The optional Full Progressive Leaf Pack replaces the entire factory leaf spring assembly increasing travel and drastically increasing comfort (when compared to when compared to the factory springs or add-a-pack) throughout the entire usable travel stroke reducing payload to a “light” 3/4-ton spec. This can be brought back to factory capacity with the use of Carli Long Travel Airbags to achieve the best ride and adjustable rear load capacity!

When pairing added down-travel with the taller ride height, the position of the factory, front sway bar will need to be altered as well. For this, we offer two options (unless 1994-2002, then there’s only one); extended, Sway Bar End Links or the replacement Torsion Sway Bar. The End links are equipped with ½” FK Rod-Ends and in-house machined 17-4 stainless bodies that are extended over stock to reset the sway bar engagement points. Factory pillow-bushings are re-used to assemble the sway bar to the lengthened link. Carli’s optional Torsion sway bar removes the entire factory sway bar assembly replacing it with a torsion bar supported by fabricated drop brackets and delrin bushings. Fabricated sway bar arms and dual 5/8” FK heim end links round off the package. This is the single best bang for the buck, ride-quality upgrade offered by Carli Suspension (in close competition with the full progressive leaf spring upgrade).

When lifting the front end of a straight-axle truck, the front axle is pulled off-center unless the proper linkages are addressed. Three inches of front lift equates to an axle shifted toward the driver’s side ¾” and back toward the cab ½”. This system includes an Adjustable Track Bar to push the axle back toward the passenger side and provide a stronger link with less deflection for the lifted application. We also recommend the purchase of a set of extended control arms to shift the axle forward to its new center of travel.

Wheel and Tire: This system will fit up to a 35” tire with stock control arms (we recommend purchasing our extended, Mild Steel Control Arms) on wheels with 5.75-6” of backspacing. If running factory wheels, we recommend an All Terrain 35” tire to avoid rubbing. For 37” tire fitment, our High-Clearance Control Arms and Adjustable Track Bar can be paired to a wheel with 5.75” of Backspacing. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • WHEELS: Carli Recommends a 17"-18" Wheel, no more than 9" wide with 5.75" of Backspacing on Leveling Systems
  • TIRES: 35", E-Rated Tire Fitment is Recommended. Recommended unloaded Tire Pressure 45F/40R.
  • RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION: Carli Leveling Systems are Designed and Tested on Vehicles with 17"-18" Wheels with 35", E-Rated Tires. Stock wheels and tires or running a larger wheel diameter will result in a stiffer ride.
  • 37" TIRE FITMENT: 37" Tires will fit with the above wheel specifications if the system is equipped with Full Replacement Leaf Springs and Control Arms.

OPTIONAL UPGRADES

  • Fabricated Leaf Spring Shackles: Reduce rear stiffness and improve articulation; 1/4″ steel construction with greasable, rebuildable bushings. Compatible with factory and Carli leaf springs.
  • Long Travel Airbags (1″–2″ Rear Lift): Support heavy loads without sacrificing ride quality; adjustable up to 2,000 lbs per bag at 100 psi while maintaining full suspension travel.
  • Ram Extended Control Arms: Re-center the front axle on 3″ systems, improve steering stability, and increase tire clearance; available in heavy-duty billet or tubular configurations.
  • Low Mount Steering Stabilizer – Stainless: Direct bolt-in upgrade for T-style steering that reduces shimmy and corrects right-side tire pull; adjustable and compatible with optional differential guards.
  • High Mount Steering Stabilizer – T-Style Lifted: Improves steering control and feedback on leveled and lifted trucks; not compatible with factory Power Wagon sway bars.
  • Opposing Steering Stabilizer Kit – T-Style Lifted: Dual opposing stabilizers eliminate radial pull in both directions and include a differential guard for maximum steering control and protection.

Very good speakers
Size: Pair
The r51ms are used to compliment my klipsch rp500m speakers and a 12 inch subwoofer in a large living room. By placing the r51m speakers to the outside walls , and the rp500m speakers to the interior, closer to the amplifier, and with the subwoofer set on deep bass only at just enough volume to barely compliment the sound, the large living room is more than sufficiently covered with at least true high fi quality sound, if not true budget audiophile sound. My entire 2.1 system is all klipsch. That's how I want it. I am using them with a high powered tube amplifier, so presence and clarity is awesome. Placement is critical. I was initially disappointed until I switched the r51ms to the spread to the outside walls position, and the rp500ms to the interior, closer to the amplifier. The difference was remarkable. The 2 different klipsch speakers, ie one a rp and the other a r series blend together perfectly with no clash whatsoever because of somewhat more refined sound on the rp500m speakers. The rp500m speakers do sound higher end , but they are supposed to, but with the speakers as outer r51m and inner rp500m, and the klipsch subwoofer at deep bass with just a touch of volume the result is sound of such quality that I can honestly say I can be content and satisfied with it. I can say my system is complete, and no further improvement, upgrades are needed. Tower speakers as primaries are not necessary because of the high quality of sound and the high sensitivity of the 4 klipsch bookshelf speakers and klipsch subwoofer. This saves me money during this rapid inflation period of time. I could easily say that what I have sounds more than good enough to be satisfied and content with without any desire to upgrade further at this point. Shipping speed was excellent via Amazon itself, and the box and speakers arrived in handled with care and new condition. I am not disappointed at all now that the r51m speakers are the outside speakers, spread apart from corner wall to wall to compliment the interior placements of my rp500m speakers by klipsch. Im all klipsch here and I love it. 5 stars categorically. As previously stated, I see no need for primary tower speakers, even in a large living room, and that equals high quality sound and savings of money at the same time. I recommend these speakers. They do more than just do sound quality wise.

Great Sound
Size: Pair
Great things sometimes come in little packages. Powerhouse sound with virtually no input at all. Tight, crisp, and well-made as usual from Klipsch. If you are looking for a powerhouse monitor these are what you want.

Great starter speakers - for the right price.
Size: Pair
A good all-around pair of starter speakers if you're planning on using them as standalones. These will have zero trouble filling a small to medium sized space with rich and detailed sound at low to mid volumes. The bass is adequate for their size. They're not going to knock your socks off on more thumpy genres. I would imagine pairing them with a subwoofer would make quite the difference but for rock and some synth pop, they're pretty sweet. Plus the copper woofers look very striking without the faceplates. That said, I say these are best suited at low to mid volumes because cranked, the higher frequencies can be awfully fatiguing coming out of these speakers. I would not pay anywhere close to the $349 MSRP for these (you can probably find a pair of far superior RP-600Ms for around that price nowadays). Around $150 seems like a sweet spot for the R-51Ms, but the Sony SSCS5s and Fluance Signature bookshelfs are very comparable, if not better sounding for around the same price. Still, these will probably more than satisfactory if you're not expecting to be blown away by them. UPDATE 5/20/25: Can confirm that the subwoofer made a big difference. I was going to retire these since I replaced them with some bigger floor speakers on my main setup but I decided to try them out in place of the factory speakers on the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 I have hooked up to my computer. Not only does the onboard amp seem to drive them okay at not-insane levels of volume - they sound really sweet paired with the 6.5-inch subwoofer. While I won't change my rating, I do highly recommend getting a sub along with these speakers.
