With the Empress Salon Styling Chair, DIR Salon Furniture takes inspiration from the famous design of the Eames® Lounge Chair and applies it to the salon environment. The original design, which has been in continuous production by the original makers since 1956, may now be found at prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art. The design's goal was to give the sense of a well-worn baseball mitt. The DIR version has a button-tufted seat and backrest, cushioned armrests, and a removable and adjustable headrest. The cushions are supported by dark wood molded wooden support panels. For a rustic aesthetic, the Empress is offered in antique imitation leather.
