This Green and Pink Tourmaline, Double-Terminated Quartz plus more specimen weighs 606g. It measures 115*65*90mm. This is a complex and beautiful specimen with fabulous Green Tourmaline and much more going on. The long Green Tourmaline crystal is quite pleochroic, looking lighter or darker at different angles. I think I see Topaz and Kunzite too. There is an intriguing dark crystal submerged in the middle of one face as well. I am not sure what it is. This specimen was sourced in Afghanistan for us by our partner, Lawrence Handicrafts.  Green Tourmaline is a beautiful complex lithium-rich borosilicate mineral. Elbaite usually forms as elongated rods or prismatic crystals that are heavily striated. Green (and blue) Elbaite crystals are often pleochroic, which means that the crystal appears darker in colour when viewed along its vertical axis, compared to viewing along its horizontal axis. Elbaite is an igneous mineral that almost always forms in granite pegmatites.
