Somerset (South) Meadow Seed Mix

This is a gorgeous meadow seed mix harvested from a farm outside Langport. We've used this mix on several projects and can give it our personal recommendation!

Like all of our "direct harvested" mixes, it has a high proportion of wildflowers to meadow grasses- in this case over 60% wildflowers. It also has a large number of species - some of them very interesting. The high % of wildflowers makes it outstanding value for money, and the diversity of grass species is also unusual.

The mix is characterised as MG5a, which is a type of grassland relatively common across the UK. Wherever you are in the country, it will work well for you if you have neutral, medium fertility and heavier soil.

Although we test our seed and it has high germination rates, you need to be careful about initial care and establishing an annual regime. Don't be put off though - once you get the hang of it it's pretty straightforward.
