Saddle up for suspense, humor, and the wild adventure of the classic '70s crime drama McCloud, starring Dennis Weaver as Marshal Sam McCloud—a straight-shooting cowboy from Taos, New Mexico, who brings his rugged charm and unique brand of justice to the mean streets of New York City. As part of the NYPD’s Special Investigations Unit, McCloud solves crimes his own way, often clashing with his uptight boss, Chief Clifford, played by J.D. Cannon and partnered with Sgt. Joe Broadhurst, played by Terry Carter.

Following a two-hour pilot film that aired on February 17, 1970 – loosely based on the Clint Eastwood film Coogan’s Bluff (1968) – the opening episode of McCloud was broadcast on September 16, 1970, as part of Four-in-One, a one-hour NBC series airing in the 10-11 p.m. time slot on Wednesday nights. It comprised of a quartet of unconnected dramas, including Night Gallery (an anthology of horror stories hosted by Rod Serling), San Francisco International (starring ex-Sea Hunt star Lloyd Bridges as the manager of Northern California’s largest and busiest airport) and The Psychiatrist, with Roy Thinnes playing Dr James Whitman. (The 6 original 60-minute episodes of McCloud season 1 were later combined into 3 new episodes for syndication. Some material was cut and some linking voice-overs were added. These versions are included in this complete set!)

McCloud then became part of The NBC Mystery Movie franchise, where it remained alongside Columbo and McMillan & Wife throughout its six-year run, winning Dennis Weaver four Emmy Award nominations.

With McCloud’s Western grit and humor colliding with NYC’s fast-paced streets, every episode is a mix of thrilling action, mystery, and good old-fashioned cowboy charm as he squares off against city slickers, mobsters, and assassins alike.  The series featured an array of notable guest stars, including Diana Muldaur, John Denver, Stefanie Powers, Teri Garr, Jack Cassidy, Richard Dawson, Burgess Meredith, and soon to be Charlie’s Angels Jaclyn Smith and Farrah Fawcett, as well as unforgettable performances by Shelley Winters, Danny Thomas, and Larry Hagman.

The complete DVD set also includes the bonus 1989 reunion movie The Return of Sam McCloud in which ex-Marshal McCloud is now senator of New Mexico, fighting for a new environment law.

Rediscover a beloved classic with all the clever plots, car chases, and unforgettable showdowns that made McCloud a standout hit and Dennis Weaver an icon of television crime fighting. Perfect for fans of classic TV and anyone who loves a fish-out-of-water story with a rugged twist!

“There you go” . . .

History of Ethiopia
Format: Kindle
Ethiopia is an essential nation-state in Africa. It has a great civilization and history. The reign of Johannes IV was crucial to the Kingdom of Ethiopia. Moreover, Haile Selassie was another vital emperor. Ethiopia suffered under communism. Currently, Ethiopia faces foreign challenges from its neighbors and political corruption domestically. Specifically, political unrest dominates the domestic life of Ethiopia. The author presents and discusses the achievements and challenges of the Ethiopian people from Ancient Times to Modern Times. It is a well-written book.

Informative, compact history of rulers, religion and struggles.
Format: Kindle
This book is well written. It filled out my knowledge of Ethiopia, which was mostly that it was isolated from neighbors and most empires. I had heard of biblical contacts, two Italian invasions, civil wars and famines. In this book I learned of contacts with ancient Rome, Byzantium, the Ottomans, and Arabs. Trade carried on the silk road, and by sea. There was influence of Judaism, Islam and competing Christian sects. The sequence of leaders were covered as well as how they came to power. Many conflicts are covered, insurrections and invasions. The Haile Selassie period is covered, as well as his downfall. Then the military period is covered, with communism and factionalism. Finally the recent period is covered,up to the present civil wars of 2022. I would recommend this compact book, for anyone planning a visit, or wanting background knowledge.

Format: Paperback
This is a fake book written by AI. It reads worse than a Wikipedia article and is a complete scam.

A Rough, Rocky Start
Format: Kindle
Modern Africa started after a long rough and rocky start. This book describes the trials each district has had to face to gain their freedom from Europe and what life was like in each district under the control of foreigners. As WWI began, many of Africa's districts were effected, some were forced to supply fighting men, some had their resources used to support the war effort, and some had fighting in their area. When WWII started Africa found that not much had changed. However, as Africa gained its freedom and became self governing internal wars broke out between the different tribes. Well, you will have to read the book to find out how that turned out. This book covers all that and so much more. It all written in an easy to read and understand format that Captivating History is known for and as always they do a great job of explaining everything. This is a great book and recommend you giving it a read.
