Description

November, the HeathNovember, the Heath is a six colour reduction cut linoprint, printed in oil based ink on Fabriano Rosaspina 280gsm paper. A reduction cut linoprint is when each colour that has been printed is carved away. This means that there is virtually nothing left on the block after printing the last colour, so the block can not be printed again. Inspired by Japanese prints of fireworks, and outsider art on the theme, the image is taken from a view of Hampstead

November, the Heath is a six colour reduction cut linoprint, printed in oil based ink on Fabriano Rosaspina 280gsm paper.

A reduction cut linoprint is when each colour that has been printed is carved away. This means that there is virtually nothing left on the block after printing the last colour, so the block can not be printed again.

Inspired by Japanese prints of fireworks, and outsider art on the theme, the image is taken from a view of Hampstead Heath. Artistic license comes in to play when Cally imagined what this particular view might look like on November 5th. People do usually view fireworks over London from Parliament Hill which is the highest point on Hampstead Heath.

Image size: 15 x 15 cm.
Paper size: 23 x 25.5 cm.
Edition of 20, numbered, titled and signed.

Each colour has been carved by hand, and printed on Cally's press, so there may be variations in some of the texture and tones on the print. This is considered part of the beauty of the handmade process!

A lover of the natural world, Cally's prints are inspired by nature and folklore. She is based in London, but is constantly drawn to the beauty of nature and its place within the world. She began producing etchings and collagraphs at art college, and came to linocut printmaking much later. She really fell in love with the process of linocut; something about the carved line as a way to translate her sketches, and to explore pattern and texture.

Great interventions and Trauma Theory
Format: Paperback
This a great book if you work with victims of trauma and want to understand how different types of trauma can present and what interventions can be used (i.e urge surfing, cognitive restructuring, focus breathing, etc.). It also include a section about medications and what to address first in treatment. I think it’s great for new clinicians who may be looking for interventions to add to their clinical toolbox.

New to trauma therapy; loved the book
Format: Paperback
This book was required reading in my Trauma & Intervention class and I loved it so much that I kept it. It is easy to understand if you are new to trauma therapy (which I am). I refer to it fairly often and have absolutely put what I learned to good use. I truly believe this book helped make me a better therapist.
