Within the book's 335 large format pages are found details on each model of Victor Talking Machine. These details were compiled from numerous sources, including original Victor records long thought to have been lost.

In addition to the detailed information on each Victor model, other chapters illustrate experimental Victor products, discuss how Victors were marked to aid in identification today, offer guidelines to collecting, and show some of the Victors made for foreign markets. Many rare custom and period Victrolas are illustrated in color using rare original illustrations and new photos.

Chapters assist the collector in matching record albums and sound boxes to various models, and the elegant stores that sold these instruments nearly a century ago are described and illustrated.
