Smiths Medical now offers a valved peel-away sheath introducer. The addition of the valved introducers provides enhanced safety to clinicians by helping to reduce the risk of air embolisms and unnecessary blood loss during intravascular catheter insertion for a port implantation.

- Specially designed valve membrane to reduce risk of blood loss and air embolisms during catheter insertion
- Low insertion force valve membrane allows for smooth insertion and removal of port catheters
- Extruded scoreline peel-away sheath allows for clean, even peeling during removal from vein
- Ergonomically designed hub for easy splitting before sheath removal
- French size printed on handle and indicated by ISO color-coded introducer cap for easy identification of introducer size and to ensure dilator and sheath sizes are identical
- Positive locking dilator connector to confirm dilator is firmly attached to the sheath
