For over 35 years Sage has built performance rods one at a time on Bainbridge Island, Washington. The same 27 sets of skilled hands that craft every Sage rod construct the Foundation making it a truly handcrafted American made fly rod at an accessible price point. The stealth black blank with black primary thread wraps and silver trim wraps gives the Foundation a clean and classic look that is unmistakably Sage.
The Foundation outfit comes completely rigged and ready to fish right out of the case. Paired with the Sage Spectrum C reel and spooled with Rio Products Rio Gold fly line, tapered leader, and backing this outfit gives you everything you need to get on the water immediately. The snub nose cork handle provides comfortable all day grip and the black anodized aluminum uplocking reel seat delivers secure and reliable rod and reel connection cast after cast.
