6-piece Damascus knife set at JW Steel Crafts with forest green dyed wood handles, a wood grain blade pattern, a silver bolster, and a medallion pin — a forged professional collection built for performance and display.

The History Behind This Blade

Damascus steel has been a symbol of superior bladesmithing for over a thousand years. The wood grain pattern emerged from controlled folding and forging of multiple steel layers — each fold adding strength and visual depth to the blade surface. Green-dyed stabilized wood is a modern handle material developed for its moisture resistance, color consistency, and professional grip. At JW Steel Crafts, every blade in this collection is forged and finished by hand to carry that tradition forward.

Blade Performance

Each blade is forged from layered Damascus steel. The wood grain pattern flows horizontally across the full blade length — long structured lines with deep silver and dark grey contrast from tip to bolster. Layered forging builds grain strength and lasting edge retention directly into the steel. Thin tapered edges cut through meat, fish, vegetables, and herbs with low resistance. These blades stay sharp longer and perform consistently through demanding daily use.

Handle Construction

Each handle is forest green dyed wood — deep solid green with a smooth finish consistent across all six knives. The silver bolster connects blade and handle cleanly on every piece. One round medallion pin secures the full tang firmly inside the handle — a distinctive detail that marks each knife as an artisan-made piece. The grip feels balanced and secure during fast prep and extended kitchen sessions. The full tang runs the complete blade length for maximum strength.

FAQs

Q: What knives are included in this Damascus Knife Set Green Wood Handle?
You get six forged knives: a chef knife, Santoku, fillet knife, boning knife, slicing knife, and utility knife. Every major kitchen task is covered in one matched set.

Q: What makes the green wood handles different from standard handles?
Forest green dyed wood is moisture-resistant, color-stable, and consistent across all six knives. It gives the set a distinctive look that stands apart from standard brown or black handles.

Q: Why does this set include a fillet and boning knife?
Most kitchen sets skip these. A fillet knife handles fish and delicate cuts precisely. A boning knife trims meat and works around joints where chef knives cannot reach.

Q: Is the Damascus pattern the same on every knife?
No. Each blade shows natural pattern variation from the layered forging process. The wood grain direction and contrast differ slightly across each piece.

Q: Is this set a good gift for a professional chef?
Yes. Six task-specific forged knives, forest green handles, and a wood grain blade finish make this a premium gifting choice for chefs and serious collectors.

Q: Are these knives suitable for daily professional kitchen use?
Yes. Full tang construction, forged Damascus steel, and six task-specific profiles support continuous daily professional kitchen performance.

Q: How should I care for these Damascus blades?
Hand wash only. Dry immediately after each use. Apply food-safe oil occasionally to protect the blade finish and green wood handle condition.

A+
Thought it did a really good job framing the big picture, as well as showing some of the nitty gritty details of the fighting that took place. Even though I thought I already knew a lot about D-Day, I still learned some things along the way. Note: although I do most of my reading on my Kindle Paperwhite, I read this on my iPad Kindle app instead. I don't expect the graphics to come off too well on a non-tablet Kindle so did not even download it there.

Wonderful middle grade book
Format: Hardcover
This book is part historical fiction and part sci-fi. I bought because we like getting the Newberry award winner every year. We loved this story. It was fun read a book placed when I was kid and see/show my kids how much the world has changed, but it also had a fun time travel element. This coming of age follows a kid and his worries about Y2k. He deals with the death of a friend and worries about everything. We loved this story and it's special sections back i to the future making it easy to believe that time travel is real.

Fantastic
Format: Kindle
Time travel books are fun. You have to wrap your head around how they work out in the end. This time travel book sort of sneaks up on you, in that other things are going on while Ridge, the time traveler, is checking out 1999. For those who were alive in 1999, we all worried about Y2K, when all the computers would stop working. Scientists worked hard to make sure that it wouldn’t, and at the time, only one bank had trouble after the new year began. Other than that, we were all fine, and life went on. Micheal, is obsessed with Y2K, and when he learns that Ridge is from the future, it is all he wants to know about, and Ridge can’t tell him, as the event is too close. He can tell him how he got his name, and a little about how life is like in the future, but that is about it. But Ridge is the first time traveler, and he has no idea if anything he says will change things, so he has to be very careful. He has no idea what he will find when she returns home, and so worries about everything he says. I really enjoyed this book. I marked several passages that spoke to me. And even the title is such a good thing to bring up and explain, in that it means living in the present time. Not worrying about the future or the past.

Brilliant
Format: Hardcover
The First State of Being is a brilliant, highly readable middle grade book from the QUEEN of character-driven middle grade literature. This expansive sci-fi feels at once introspective and cinematic, leaping off the page like something made for a movie. This book will help young people and all readers reflect on our past and future as a human community, especially in terms of health advances, animal extinction, and the potential for technological development. It also highlights the love and fight in a mother and the need to view life through a positive lens by focusing most on the present, not our past or future.
