The first set of solutions from the GEN_VMT collection, winner of the Red Dot Product Design Award 2020, are the PENRAY 02 Tiles. Presented in 4 different shapes, these tiles can be combined according to the will of each person. This results of geometric research in fields of pentagonal tiling where each individual piece is in the shape of a pentagon. In this exploratory work we were looking for a shape grammar that allows generating endless combinations of single or double main shapes.

This product explores the potential of 3D effect. The modules, once organized according to a specific rule, drive us to a magic world like the ones of MC Escher. The smart use of color reinforces the potential of this generative pattern.

GEN_VMT Penray 02 comes in 12 units boxes, that include 3 units of the intermediate relief shape, 3 units of more cropped relief shape and 6 units of the flat shape. This will allow to make three combinations similar to the one presented in the image above. The 12 units fill an area of 1.08m2.
