Lyretail Louti Grouper Variola LoutiOverview: The Lyretail Louti Grouper, scientifically known as Variola Louti, stands out as a captivating spectacle in the marine aquarium world. Admired for its vibrant coloration, which ranges from a deep red to a purplish hue, this grouper showcases a striking lyretail that adds to its allure. Growing up to 24 inches in captivity, it commands presence and exudes a majestic aura, making it a prized addition for seasoned aquarists.
Origin: This stunning species hails from the Indo-Pacific region, thriving in the coral-rich waters from the Red Sea to the Western Pacific. Its natural habitat comprises reef environments where it adeptly navigates the complex structures in search of food and shelter.
Feeding: The Lyretail Louti Grouper is a carnivorous species with a hearty appetite. It requires a varied diet consisting of meaty foods such as squid, shrimp, and small fish. In captivity, it's essential to provide a balanced diet to ensure its health and vitality. Feedings should be done 2-3 times a week to mimic natural feeding patterns and prevent obesity.
Tank Mates: Given its potential size and natural predatory instincts, careful consideration is needed when selecting tank mates. Suitable companions include large, similarly tempered fish that can hold their own. Smaller fish and invertebrates might be at risk, as they could be seen as potential meals.
Aggression: The Lyretail Louti Grouper exhibits moderate aggression, especially towards smaller tank mates or those of similar shape and color. Its territorial nature necessitates ample space and hiding spots within the aquarium to mitigate stress and aggressive behaviors.
Experience Level: Caring for a Lyretail Louti Grouper demands an intermediate to advanced level of marine aquarium knowledge. Its requirements for large tank size, specific diet, and understanding of its behavior make it best suited for those with experience in marine aquaria.
Water Parameters: Optimal water quality is paramount for the health of the Lyretail Louti Grouper. Maintain water temperatures between 72°F to 78°F, with a pH level of 8.1 to 8.4. Salinity should be kept stable at 1.020-1.025 specific gravity. Regular water changes and monitoring of water conditions are essential to replicate its natural marine environment.
The Lyretail Louti Grouper is undoubtedly a magnificent species that, with proper care and understanding, can become the centerpiece of a marine aquarium, bringing a slice of the ocean's mystery and beauty into your home.

Long lasting and safer alternative to sticks
Color: Dogwood & Calming, Size: Medium
These are great, very durable, and have lasted a very long time. Much safer for my dogs than the random sticks they find in the yard. They do get shorter with chewing eventually, but they don't break off in little chunks like I've seen with some nylon chews, and they don't splinter like wood. Medium size works well for both my 16 lb Cavalier and my 60 lb Pyrenees/Golden mix. They're both moderate-to-aggressive chewers, though size obviously affects how much damage they can do.
I wish you could buy the hemp chew separately because that one is very much a favorite in my house, so after 2 years and 2 purchases, I have barely any left of the remaining hemp chew, but still 2 of the dogwood chews that neither dog is as interested in anymore. I'd love to buy a couple more of just the hemp one.

Your dog will thank you.
Color: Dogwood & Fresh Breath, Size: Large
My dogs loves to chew on these. They make a small mess but not as bad as other chews. They are food for keeping teeth clean.

Nice chew toy
Color: Dogwood Mushroom, Size: Medium, Color: Dogwood Mushroom, Size: Medium
Super durable and puppy loves it. It was a bit hard for her at first but now at 5 months it’s one of her favorite things to gnaw on! It is heavy for the size but seems to be great quality and has given many hours of chew time with minimal wear.

Puppy loves these sticks!
Color: Dogwood & Calming, Size: Medium
Dogs love these sticks! Must smell and taste like real wood because it keeps my puppy from bringing real sticks in the house from outside. She is a heavy chewer and these sticks keep her occupied. We are on our 2nd set.
