Based on the timeless childhood favourite characters from Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ and ‘Through the Looking Glass’, this incredibly charming chess set is as luxurious as it is unique.
The famous Alice In Wonderland stories were penned by Lewis Carroll as entertainment for the children of The Dean of Christ Church in Oxford (where Carroll was employed as a Lecturer). Alice’s mother Lorina Liddell convinced Carroll to have the stories published when she saw how captivated her children were by them. You will recognise all the main characters beautifully brought to life in rich cream and russet-brown resin, with designs inspired directly by John Tenniel’s original Alice illustrations.
We have paired these pieces with a stunning maple and mahogany inlaid board, creating an exemplary chess set that is sure to become the centrepiece of any room!
