"The Kirchenstück was already mentioned in documents before the 30 Years' War. Located at 150 meters in the middle of a plateau between two churches, you can overlook H.O.’s hometown of Hohen-Sülzen. In the ancient centerpiece lies his oldest vineyard, planted in the 1960s. Today the wines come from the best plots in the entire church, have an average age of 35 years, and produce fruity and profound wines.

The pad consists of soft, calcareous stone and enables the vines to receive an excellent supply of nutrients despite the extremely calcareous subsoil. Characterized by its expressive fruit, the Kirchenstück is accessible even in youth without compromising its great maturity potential. The wines of the Kirchenstück are spontaneously fermented by hand after strict selection and aged in Stück barrels.

It shines in a pale straw yellow in the bowl and oscillates in the nose between juicy fruit and stimulating herbal spices of brook mint, lemon thyme and savory. Its herbal, tart nature is complemented by yellow to red fruity aromas: fully ripe yellow apples and quinces as well as some nectarine are underlined by the impression of wet chalk. Fruity, the fine-grained phenolic has a mouth-watering effect and is fueled by the youthful yet fully mature acid nerve. Complex and profound, it flows confidently and straight into the citrusy, salty and bitter finish.

The Kirchenstück is already open-hearted in its youth, has enormous potential for maturity and clearly calls for fine cuisine: it encounters North African dishes or Levantine cuisine at eye level as well as fish and seafood classics from French cuisine.
