Candle Care

Do not cut the wicks short. For best performance, allow the entire top surface to melt into an even wax pool before extinguishing the flame—this helps prevent tunneling and supports a longer-lasting candle.

Burn time varies based on room temperature and environment. If the wick forms a long “mushroom” shape, extinguish the candle, let it cool completely, and gently remove the tip. Keep the wax pool free of debris. Extinguish carefully and allow to cool before moving. A candle snuffer is recommended.

Never use water to extinguish a candle, as wax may splatter and the vessel may crack. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Why are the candles naturally yellow? LesRuches candles are naturally golden and milky yellow because they contain no bleach or added colorants.

Why do I see cracks, imperfections, or a light powdery look? LesRuches candles are made with organic beeswax, coconut oil, and essential oils. Natural variations can occur due to the composition of beeswax. A light powdery substance may appear—this is often called “bloom.”

What is “bloom”? Bloom is a natural process in pure beeswax candles where softer oils migrate to the surface, creating a whitish cast. It does not affect how the candle burns.

Does beeswax expire? No. Beeswax does not go bad or expire.

How long is the burn time? Burn time varies based on the environment and atmosphere.

Should I cut the wicks? It’s best to leave the wick length as-is and gently remove the tip only if a long mushroom shape forms.

When should I extinguish the flame? Ideally, wait until the wax pool melts evenly across the top before extinguishing to reduce tunneling. If tunneling occurs, allowing a longer burn time can help even the surface.
