This single malt was distilled at Caol Ila distillery aged for more than 40 years in a single hogshead, yielding a total of 108 bottles.

Nose - Nettle and elderflower cordial with just a hint of aromatic smoke give a wonderful nod to the spirit of the incredibly well aged Islay malt. Notes of earl grey tea with a spoonful of cloudy honey rises from the glass complimented by a beautiful herbaceous tone with tarragon and chocolate mint.

Taste - Flavours of honey and orange oil create this wonderful dichotomy which continues to develop with time in the glass. Eucalyptus and elderflower create a very delicate feel and are contrasted and complimented by a richer, almost agave like sweetness. Orange citrus and chocolate with a hint of chilli spice creates more depth while a hint of coal smoke balances the sweet and sour notes.

Finish - Tarragon and rosemary develop along with a beautifully rich tangerine juice. The smoke is still there creating more length but it is very light like the dying embers of a beach fire.
