Our example is closed at the front and made of heavy wool felt which can also withstand a heavy downpour.From the 14th century, it begins its entry into the fashion world and is now often worn colorfully or with an overlong sendelbinde which is looped around the neck, as can be seen in the murals at Runkelstein Castle near Bolzano.
Even though it is historically a man's garment, it also enjoys great popularity among women, especially at LARP, and is incorporated into many different costume concepts.

98% cotton comfort
Color: Black, Size: Large
It's true to size. I have a 42" chest and typically wear a large. I ordered large and it fits. Grab these while you can as most of these mock neck t shirts are a cotton poly blend. These are 98% cotton. This is important because although the cotton/poly blends dry quicker, they are uncomfortably warm if it gets above 70 F. I have purchased other mock turtlenecks and had my local dry cleaners convert them from long sleeves to short, but they are slightly heavier weight than these. I do wish that they made these in a dark green or military green color.

100% SYNTHETIC CONSTRUCTION!!!

When I bought this shirt, the listing claimed it was 95% cotton and 5% spandex... the shirt that arrived was 51% polyester, 43% viscose and 6% spandex! I have been impressed by some of their other clothing, but this is the first time I was completely lied to and bamboozled. I probably wouldn't have noticed if the shirt wasn't so hot, shiny, and uncomfortable! I will absolutely be returning this shirt. Not even CLOSE to what I wanted. Quite, quite disappointed.
