The Carli Suspension Fabricated Leaf Spring Shackles CS-DSHACKLE-0313 are an excellent upgrade for your Dodge Ram 2500/3500, designed to replace the jarring ride caused by factory shackles. Much of the jarring ride of the leaf-sprung rear can be attributed to the factory vulcanized bushings in the leaf spring pack and shackle. The factory shackle is very strong but it is not conducive to providing a smooth ride. This is no surprise as these trucks were not made to ride well, they're made to tow. The factory leaf springs have a high-spring-rate and short-travel. RAM did not design a shackle that rides well and provides extended suspension travel. The vulcanized bushings are a press-fit which are utilized by many OEMs and it is adhered on both points of contact.
The OEM bushing material is adhered to both the shackle itself and the crush sleeve that the bolt goes through. The crush sleeve (silver sleeve that runs the length of the bushing) is very thick, which makes the bushing very thin. The bushing is only designed to move as much as it can deflect and when the deflection is minimal, your ride will suffer. Carli does everything they can to milk these trucks for the best ride. The vulcanized bushings may not seem like a big deal, until you consider there are 6 total bushings that fight suspension movement in the factory configuration - front leaf spring pivot, rear leaf spring pivot and shackle pivot.
Replacing the factory springs with Carli-spec Deavers will allow you to replace 4 of these (front and rear leaf-spring pivot) with free-moving, serviceable bushings; this shackle replaces the final 2. In contrast to the factory bushing, the Carli bushing assembly utilizes more bushing material and a thinner sleeve to prioritize ride damping. The Carli bushings are serviceable. Drop the rear end and grease them through the protected zerk fitting. The bushings are specially designed with channels for the grease to travel around for optimal grease migration and bushing life.
These bushing are serviceable, if you happen to wear out the Carli Shackle Bushings, you can simply buy new ones and swap them in, reusing the crush sleeve. The factory shackle requires replacement in its entirety when the bushings crack/rot. In short, the original shackle is beefy, but the press-fit OEM vulcanized bushings resist and bind during movement. This gives you a bad ride, no serviceability, and no rebuildability. The Carli shackle works wonders to free up the rear end of your truck (even fits factory leaf springs) while offering BOTH serviceability and rebuildability.

My favorite E edger so far.
Color: Yellow
For a battery powered unit, it was much better than I expected. Powerful enough to do everything in my yard. It beats even some of my previous good gas ones.
I did my whole large front yard with a little more than one battery. Pretty good, actually.

Does a good job, and works pretty well. Took weeks to have it delivered.
Works pretty well, seems to be slightly underpowered. I think it would work better if the soil here were drier. The shroud around the blade would probably not jam up with dirt if the soil here is drier. I was constantly having to remove the battery and using a screwdriver to remove the dirt from the shroud. The shroud would work better if it was larger. There is an adjuster that lowers a metal guide that fits up against the concrete that helps you to keep the blade right up to the edge, make sure to lower that guide into place. The 20 Volt Max batteries I used are hard to insert and remove, but mine are aftermarket batteries, and another tool I own is also hard to insert and remove the same batteries.

3 SCORE 18 Duane Broussard
Color: Yellow
Good luck with trying to find blades. To work properly one has to find a blade with a center hole of 7/16” diameter OBLONG so it can engage the motor shaft and not spin freely DO NOT BUY THIS REPEAT DO NOT BUY THIS

Make sure you have original DeWALT batteries
Color: Yellow
I thought there was something wrong with the edger but it was the batteries. Must use original DeWALT batteries. I have cheap replacement batteries that work fine for all my DeWALT tools but do not work with this edger. Will run for a few seconds and shut off. With original DeWALT batteries, this edger works great.
