Het is belangrijk om chloor- en pH-waardes regelmatig te monitoren. Chloor zorgt voor desinfectie van het water; de pH-waarde geeft aan hoe zuur het water is. Een te lage pH-waarde kan ogen en huid irriteren, corrosie vormen en chloor te snel laten vervliegen. Een te hoge pH-waarde kan kalkafzetting en troebel water veroorzaken.
