Het shavette scheermes is het meest geschikte scheermes voor precisiescheren langs de randen van de baard.

Eerst de snor bijkammen. een klein beetje pommade gebruiken, de pommade tussen de vingers wrijven en vloeibaar maken, aanbrengen en verdelen over de snor.
