It supports all major SD and HD standards up to 1080p30, making it suitable for monitoring, archiving or conversion workflows where analog outputs remain essential. Automatic format detection allows the device to switch between standard definition, high definition and level B 3G‑SDI signals without manual configuration, ensuring uninterrupted operation across mixed‑signal environments. 

At the core of the converter is a high‑quality down‑conversion engine that enables HD sources to be displayed or recorded through SD equipment such as composite or S‑Video devices. This capability is crucial for environments transitioning from SD to HD, where downstream devices may not support modern formats. The analog output section provides component, S‑Video and NTSC or PAL composite signals, giving operators the flexibility to integrate a wide variety of legacy devices including Betacam SP, VHS systems or older analog monitors.

Embedded SDI audio can be de‑embedded and output as either balanced analog signals or AES/EBU digital audio, making the unit suitable for monitoring or routing through external mixing and processing equipment. The converter supports television‑standard audio sampling at 48 kHz and 24‑bit precision, ensuring stable and accurate reproduction even when interfacing with older analog hardware. Automatic failover ensures that if the primary SDI input is lost, the device immediately switches to the alternate path when available, which adds resilience in critical setups.
