De cichoreiplant is een geslacht uit de composietenfamilie en is nauw verwant aan witlof en andijvie. Cichorei werd door de Egyptenaren al gebruikt vanwege de positieve effecten op de gezondheid en tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog diende geroosterde cichoreiwortel als koffie substituut.
Cichorei is een tweejarige plant. In het eerste jaar groeit de wortel en legt de plant een grote energiereserve aan om het tweede jaar mooie, blauwpaarse bloemen te kunnen vormen. Die reserve is inuline, ook wel cichoreiwortelvezel genoemd. Voor de plant is dit een bron van energie, voor ons een 100% plantaardige vezel. De herkomst van de biologische cichorei vezels is België.
Plantaardige vezels
Biologische Cichorei is vezelrijk en bestaat voor 85% uit prebiotische, natuurlijke plantenvezels. Een deel van deze vezels zijn polysachariden, namelijk inuline (fructaan) en pectine. Dit product bevat ongeveer 70% inuline en 9% pectine.
Hoe gebruik je biologische Cichorei vezels?
Biologische cichorei vezels hebben een zoete, licht bittere smaak en kunnen worden toegevoegd aan yoghurt, smoothie, muesli, salade, soep of een saus.
Mattisson chichorei vezels zijn vrij van zware metalen en pesticides.

Colorful, Sturdy & Great Value

Purchased for our two puppies when they were 2 months old and weighed about 14 pounds so theses balls were a little big for them to hold in their mouths but that didn't stop them from trying. While they did like these balls they much preferred softer soccer balls, the later of which did not hold up well at all. I had hoped they would play with these balls more when they were older but that hasn't happened 5 months later. I guess it's no fun if you can't tear the toy apart. Colors are very bright and they do enjoy chasing after them as long as I am the one rolling them across the room for them. Maybe when they progress to batting things with their paws they will start to do this for themselves.

These balls were almost exactly what I needed. I was replacing my boy’s favorite ball, which is the 3” squeaky, spikey ball that fits in the chuck it launcher. Unfortunately I saw the shiny object next to it and because there were SIX balls and a dollar less, I failed to see that these are 3.5” balls instead of 3”…. Great balls but no fitty in the slingy. Buyer beware. No chuck it no problem. Save a buck.
