SOURCE is een verzameling van sonische mantra’s om naar te leven – een diep persoonlijk werk waarin Garcia kaartlagen aanbrengt rond de coördinaten van haar identiteit, familiegeschiedenis, rouw, afro-diasporische verbondenheid en collectiviteit. SOURCE gaat in de kern over het vinden van gronding in jezelf, zodat je werkelijk aanwezig kunt zijn bij anderen. Het draait om het besef van persoonlijke en collectieve kracht: de ontwikkeling van de waarden van de saxofoniste terwijl zij opnieuw verbinding maakt met zichzelf, haar wortels en haar gemeenschap. Garcia graaft diep om een album te presenteren met een wereldwijde blik: van Londen tot Bogotá, Caura tot Georgetown – een plaat geïnspireerd door de vele plekken die Garcia haar thuis noemt.

Haar erudiete mix van broken beat, soul, dubstep en afro-diasporische klanken – van cumbia tot calypso – wordt op dit album verder uitgediept, zonder ooit haar diepe jazzbasis uit het oog te verliezen. Het album haalt evenveel inspiratie uit Herbie Hancock en Wayne Shorter als uit Flying Lotus, Calypso Rose, Mala en Nidia Góngora. SOURCE gaat over een radicale, onwankelbare overtuiging in ons vermogen om zowel individuele als collectieve uitdagingen – nu en in de toekomst – te overwinnen.

II like the flavor (peppermint) and that is is a healthier option for tooth paste - BUT - the cap and tube needs redesigning. The cap is hard to screw on most of the time flying onto the counter or the floor and also easy to confuse which end to screw on if you're not paying attention as one end is to puncture the end of the tube to get the paste out and the other to cover the tube after use. The tube is too hard to get all the product out and to roll because I believe it is made of metal instead of plastic which is good but not so good. This is already very expensive and you cannot get all the toothpaste out. The cons are why I gave the 3 stars otherwise this is a 5 star for me and my husband.
