De Xaralyn Shigo bio-ethanol desginhaard is een vrijstaande haard, die zowel in een klassiek als modern interieur geplaatst kan worden. Deze designhaard is een natuurstenen vaas gecombineerd met een bio ethanol brander. De vaas van de Shigo dient voor gebruik gedeeltelijk gevuld te worden met zand of kiezels om de voet van de vaas te verzwaren. Het zand of de kiezel worden niet meegeleverd. De Shigo wordt geleverd inclusief de bijpassende bio ethanol brander S. Deze keramische brander heeft een levenslange garantie. 

Geen afvoermogelijkheden?

Bio ethanol is een duurzame brandstof die het beste te vergelijken is met alcohol. Bio ethanol is een schone brandstof waarbij geen schadelijke stoffen vrijkomen door verbranding. Doordat er geen schadelijke stoffen vrijkomen is een rookkanaal niet nodig. De keuze voor een bio ethanol haard is daarom niet alleen een milieubewuste keuze maar ook een economische keuze. De aanleg van een rookkanaal voor het afvoeren van schadelijke stoffen zoals fijnstof is kostbaar en neemt veel ruimte in beslag. Doordat een rookkanaal niet nodig is ontstaat er daardoor meer vrijheid in de plaatsing van de brander.

Great Guide to the National Air & Space Museum
I recently visited the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum. It was the first time I'd been there since they moved into their current facility in the mid-1970's. It was breathtaking. The best way to describe the effect of walking in the main entrance is to envision the bedroom of a boy who hangs model airplanes from the ceiling. Only at the NASM, the "models" hanging from the ceiling are full-size. I was a model-building boy in the 1950's, and my favorites were planes I'd built from kits. Unfortunately, the museum was undergoing some of its regular updating and a few of my favorite planes weren't on view, such as the F89 Super Saber. Fortunately, that plane and most (if not all) the permanent collection are profiled in the Best of the National Air and Space Museum. If at all possible, visit the museum. If you can't get there, buy the book. Actually, buy the book in either case. You won't be disappointed.
