De 4Forty helm is gebouwd rond een zeer resistente buitenschaal van polycarbonaat, die is versmolten met een laag absorberend schuim met behulp van het gewicht besparende in-mold proces. Om het beschermingsniveau te verhogen, is deze BELL helm voorzien van Mips (Multi-directional impact protection system) technologie, die belooft de krachten die ontstaan bij een schuine impact effectief te verspreiden.

De 4Forty is ook voorzien van een zeer comfortabel Float Fit achterhoofd verstelsysteem, een verstelbaar vizier en Sweat Guide voorvulling om te voorkomen dat transpiratievocht in de ogen komt.
