Na zijn dood verscheen een bundel met acht preken: De zaligheid des Heeren. Deze preken hebben betrekking op Christus’ geboorte, besnijdenis, sterven en opstanding. De inhoud ervan is voluit reformatorisch. Meerdere keren spreekt Faukelius over de noodzaak van de heiliging van het leven.
De preken in deze uitgave zijn hertaald en ingeleid door C. Bregman.
Hermannus Faukelius (1560-1625) was predikant in Keulen en van 1599 tot aan zijn overlijden in Middelburg. Als assessor van de Synode van Dordrecht werd hij aangesteld als een van de vertalers van het Nieuwe Testament.
