In 1921 besloot een van de leden van de Matichecchi-familie zijn passie voor wijn na te jagen en kocht een wijngaard, waarvan hij de vrucht schuchter wijn begon te produceren. Helaas heeft het uitbreken van de Tweede Wereldoorlog de verdere ontwikkeling ervan verhinderd en is de wijngaard jarenlang in de vergetelheid geraakt. In 2001 besloot de kleinzoon van de eerste eigenaar van de wijngaard, Ciro Matichecchi, terug te keren naar zijn passie voor wijn. Dit is hoe het bedrijf CignoMoro is ontstaan, dat wijnen maakt van bijna 100 jaar oude druivenstokken met behulp van traditionele wijntechnieken, met behulp van moderne technologieën en met de wens om deze wijnen met de hele wereld te delen. De vruchten die worden gebruikt om deze wijn te maken, zijn afkomstig van 80 jaar oude wijnstokken die worden gekweekt in het perfecte klimaat van het zonnige Manduria. De druiven worden na de oogst voorzichtig geperst en afgekoeld tot 10 graden. Ze worden vervolgens ongeveer 10 tot 12 dagen geweekt, gedurende welke tijd de wijn regelmatig wordt gepompt. Na de eerste alcoholische gisting volgt nog een gisting, de zogenaamde malolacttische gisting, waarbij het zure appelzuur verandert in een delicaat melkzuur. Ten slotte wordt de wijn 12 maanden gerijpt in Franse eikenhouten vaten.Geniet van een fruitige en volle Primitivo
De 80 Vecchie Vigne Primitivo di Manduria kleurt prachtig robijnrood in het glas, waarbij direct een heerlijk aroma vrijkomt. Het intense fruitige boeket opent met aroma's van bramen, zwarte kersen, bessen en rijpe pruimen met tonen van cacao, koffie en tabak. Dog approved.

I’m a 70 lbs Goldendoodle (supposed to be 65, don’t ask) and I love cheese. Real cheese. Sharp cheddar with sourdough bread is my dream, but apparently I’m “on a health journey,” so my people bought me this instead.
Does this bone actually taste like cheese? No. I am not fooled.
Do I still enjoy chewing it loudly while my humans are trying to watch TV? Absolutely yes.
This bone satisfies my need to chew and my emotional desire for cheese-adjacent activities. It keeps me busy, saves the furniture, and lets me crunch dramatically during important dialogue scenes. The yellow color is nice — very cheese-coded — although some cheeses are white, so just something to consider for future versions.
Also, good news: it doesn’t smell like cheese at all, which my humans seem very grateful for. Apparently they don’t want the carpet to smell like a deli. Weird.

Not cheese.

Amazing for Heavy Chewers!

If you have a dog that destroys every toy in minutes, Benebone is a total game changer. These chews are incredibly durable and actually last—especially for strong or aggressive chewers. Excellent quality chews. Tiny Puppy size is perfect for adult toy breed dogs.

I bought the Tiny Puppy Bacon flavor 2-pack package of these, and my dog and his sister are obsessed with them. They chew on them multiple times every day. They seem to be fairly durable, although I expect they will break down over time, which is okay as it’s a chew. I like that they stay intact, with no chunks breaking off for the dogs to swallow. The dogs do ingest a small amount as the material breaks down, but I always supervise them when they have these, and there haven’t been any problems. It’s difficult to find good chews for toy breed dogs like our 12-pound Shih Tzus, so I was happy to find these. They are pricey, but I believe they are worth it. The dogs love to carry them around, and my little guy even plays with his chew sometimes like it’s a toy.
