Wij raden, gezien de relatief lage prijs van de butylband, steeds aan om deze dubbel te leggen, om zo het risico op lekken te minimaliseren.

Bij een overlap in de breedterichting (dus waarbij de panelen naast elkaar liggen) is het gebruik van butylband aangeraden om een betere afdichting te bekomen, maar bij het respecteren van de minimale helling van 5° (8%) niet strikt noodzakelijk.

Een rol butylband is 12m lang. Hou er, bij dwarsoverlappen, rekening mee dat de ontvouwing van het 33.250-profiel van de dakplaten 1.22m is, en je met een rol van 12m dus maar 10 panelen kan afdichten.
