Voor de Saffredi wordt 55 procent Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 procent Merlot en 15 procent Petit Verdot gevinifieerd. De druiven gedijen in de wijngaard met dezelfde naam, op een hoogte van 252 meter, westwaarts gericht naar de Tyrreense Zee, op bodems die overwegend zandsteen zijn, met weinig organisch materiaal en een kleine hoeveelheid mergel. Sinds 2012 wordt de cuvée aangevuld met Petit Verdot, een druivensoort die later rijpt dan Cabernet Sauvignon en bijdraagt aan de volheid van smaak en levensduur van deze super Toscaanse. Afhankelijk van de rijpheid van de druiven vindt de druivenoogst plaats tussen half september voor de Merlot, eind september en begin oktober voor de Cabernet Sauvignon en eind oktober voor de Petit Verdot. Na fermentatie op de schil gedurende 25 dagen bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur, rijpt de wijn 18 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten, waarvan 75 procent nieuw en 25 procent gebruikt. Dit rijpingsproces wordt gevolgd door nog eens 18 maanden op fles.Het resultaat van langdurige rijping
De Saffredi van Fattoria Le Pupille kleurt diep robijnrood in het glas. Het veelzijdige boeket onthult aroma’s van sandelhout, tabak, bramen en bessen aangevuld met kruiden, vanille en pruimen. In de smaak is deze rode wijn intens, met een stevige, gestructureerde smaak. Hij heeft fijne en elegante tannines met veel frisheid. Hij is continue sappig en heeft een erg lange afdronk. This tallow and honey balm is a really good product!
I really like this Tallow and honey balm. Actually, I use it as a face cream and it is really smooth. What I like the most is that it’s not really greasy feeling when you put it on but once it’s absorbed into the skin your skin feels smooth.
You don’t need much either. It comes with a little scoop so that you aren’t sticking your fingers in it. I’m glad I tried it because it is a good value. Another thing, it smells really good and I think it’s because of the ingredients of tallow and honey.

Hoping to reduce redness

So soft I love!!

I have been using this tallow cream for months now and my skill feels so moisturized every time I use it. I have had it for a while and still have half of the jar left so, a little does really go a long way. I really wanted to switch to a natural product to avoid putting harsh/unnecessary chemicals on my face. I also have pretty dry skin which was another big reason why I wanted to try tallow for my face. It is fragrance free which is I do like. I have not noticed much of a change in my skin appearance, largely because I do already have good skin but I love the way it makes my face feel. I did not notice any major breakouts when I started using this product, though I have never had sensitive skin. My boyfriend does have sensitive skin though and he uses it from time to time and has never complained about breakouts. I think this product is worth trying, though everybody's skin is different so you just have to test it out and see!
