Het is hier waar je de wijngaarden voor de druiven van Miss Anais Chardonnay Viognier tegenkomt, om precies te zijn in de regio Rieux-Minervois. Zij zijn onderdeel van een nieuwe range wijnen afkomstig uit de Pays d’Oc in Zuid-Frankrijk: de wijnen van Miss Anais.

De Languedoc wijnen van Miss Anais

Deze indrukwekkende reeks wijnen wordt op de markt gebracht door Chantovent. Zij zijn opgericht in 1953 en maken sinds 1993 deel uit van de wijnbouw- en productieactiviteiten van de Jean d’Alibert Groep. Zij zijn gespecialiseerd in Languedoc-wijnen en hebben als doel om een belangrijke speler te zijn in de productie en distributie van AOC wijnen uit de regio. Deze Miss Anais Chardonnay Viognier komt uit de regio Languedoc-Roussillion. Dit is de grootste wijn producerende regio ter wereld en is verantwoordelijk voor meer dan één derde van de Franse wijnproductie. Vroeger werden hier voornamelijk goedkope tafelwijnen geproduceerd, maar dat is verleden tijd. Vandaag de dag verrast deze regio met hogere kwaliteit en verassende wijnen. Hiervan zijn de wijnen van Miss Anais een perfect voorbeeld. Alleen al van de indrukwekkende fles raken wij onder de indruk. De afsluiting met de glazen dop, de Vino-lok, is niet alleen mooi maar ook nog eens super handig. Met druivenranken, geplant op een rijk terroir, kunnen we ook voorspellen dat Miss Anais Chardonnay Viognier een succesvol glas witte wijn is.

Geniet van deze fruitige Miss Anais

Dat resulteert uiteindelijk is deze heerlijke heldere goudgeel kleurige wijn. Bij het inschenken komt direct een krachtige, maar toch delicate neus vrij. Aroma’s van acaciabloemen, abrikoos en perzik; je wordt meteen ingepakt door het zonnige karakter van Miss Anais. De aanzet in de mond is zacht, maar levendig en geeft daardoor een algemene indruk van volheid. Met hinten van bloesem, citrus, perzik en nectarine. Heerlijk als aperitief, maar ook perfect bij oesters, mosselen, witvis en verse geitenkaas.

An Excellent Film
The success of this film is derived from Paul Schrader’s concept for the film and his hiring of his production designer, Eiko Ishioka, a Japanese female artist. The four chapters are presented in a simple setting with ingenious design while telling Mishima’s personal history and development into a Nobel price winning author and martyr for his political beliefs. This blu ray is a new restored 4K digital transfer of the director’s cut. As usual Criterion Collection also included a wealth of commentaries, interviews, a 1985 documentary about Mishima and a booklet. A very best blu ray package if you are interested in the person and subject matters.

Astonishing Movie
This is exactly the kind of movie that would never receive funding today and get within hailing distance of production. This movie was my 'gateway drug' into the dark and fascinating world of Yukio Mishima which is one of those things where, as the saying goes, "If you know, you know." This film is basically a collection of several short films woven together. One is the story of Mishima himself, from childhood up to the morning of his last day. The other shorts are taken from four of his novels, including my personal favorite, 'Runaway Horses'. For the biographical portions of the film, which are mostly in black-and-white, Roy Scheider's narration is excellent as well. All in all, this movie is a beautiful introduction to Yukio Mishima as well as an artistic triumph for Paul Schrader.
