Johnnie Walker staat al meer dan 200 jaar bekend van zijn Blended Scotch Whisky’s. John Walker besloot in 1820 om whisky te gaan verkopen in zijn kruidenierswinkel in Kilmarnock. In die tijd waren de kwaliteit van de whisky’s nogal verschillend dus hij besloot ze te blenden om op deze manier dezelfde kwaliteit te kunnen bieden. In 1909 werd de whisky vernoemd naar Johnnie Walker, en de kleur van het etiket, hiervoor werd het ‘Old Highland Whisky’ genoemd.
