Deze 18 volt lithium-ion accu is onderdeel van het Makita LXT 18V accuplatform. Je gebruikt hem op al het 18 volt (tuin)gereedschap van Makita met hetzelfde accu platform. De accu "communiceert" met de Makita machines en geeft informatie over de inhoud. Wanneer de energie van de accu te laag is schakelt de machine uit. Zo voorkomt je dat het toerental van de machine zakt en het koppel niet wordt bereikt. Bovendien is de accu voorzien van een led indicator die de tankinhoud van de batterij meet. Als er 4 leds branden = 75-100%, bij 3 leds branden = 50-75%, 2 leds branden = 25-50% en bij 1 led = 0-25%. Als het laatste led knippert dan is dat het signaal dat de accu moet worden opgeladen. Als de vier leds twee om twee knipperen dan kan er een storing zijn opgetreden in de accu.
