Het basismateriaal van dit sieraad is 316 roestvrij staal, ook bekend als edelstaal.
Dit is de puurste vorm van staal, hypoallergeen en wordt veelvuldig gebruikt in moderne sieraden en medische instrumenten.
De gouden ashouder ondergaat vervolgens een behandeling met PVD-coating, dezelfde methode die wordt toegepast op horloges van hoogwaardige horlogemerken.
Deze coating, uitgevoerd in een gespecialiseerde faciliteit in Frankrijk, staat bekend als de sterkste coating die er bestaat. De kleur zal niet vervagen.
Na de PVD-coating volgt nog een vergulding van 3 micron met 18-karaats goud.

De sluiting is ook vervaardigd van roestvrij staal, wat van groot belang is zodat het geen allergische reacties kan veroorzaken.
Deze sluiting ondergaat dezelfde PVD-coating als de ashouder.

The gauge of the wire used is pretty thin. There is no real weight to this item. It does do exactly what I need it to do as it allows me to dry my dish cleaning brushes and my Dawn Puff brush in an organized manner. The taller basket is nice especially for my long handled brushes. It would actually be nice if there was a second basket since I have more handled brushes than anything else. I am also really happy that I went with this design where the drain pan is the entire length rather than a little spout where all the drainage is focused. The full length lines up better to usage of each individual brush. Due to its materials, I don't have much confidence in this being around long. So far, the black coating has held up and no r*sting (do not want to jinx myself) has occurred, but if and when it does, I fully expect the metal to fold like a house of cards. The design is actually great. The materials are its Achielles' Heel.
