Een van de belangrijkste en invloedrijkste producenten van Spanje, Alvaro Palacios, maakt verbluffende wijnen in Priorat en Bierzo. Zijn familie komt uit Rioja en hij is een van de negen kinderen van de eigenaar van Bodega Palacios Remondo. Maar in plaats van met het familiedomein te werken, wilde hij de dingen een beetje anders doen. Na zijn studie wijnmaken in Bordeaux en twee jaar bij Château Petrus in Pomerol te hebben gewerkt, koos hij voor de regio Priorat, waar hij in 1990 zijn eerste wijngaard, Finca Dofí, kocht. Hieraan voegde hij in 1993 de nu iconische wijngaard L'Ermita toe. Alvaro maakt ook wijnen in Bierzo, in een joint venture met neef Ricardo Perez die in 1998 werd opgericht, genaamd Descendientes de J Palacios. Dit is de enige witte wijn gemaakt door de beroemde Spaanse wijnmaker Alvaro Palacios, Plácet Valtomelloso, is een wijn met beperkte productie die van de inheemse Spaanse druivensoort Viura wordt gemaakt. Deze Placet komt uit Valtomelleso, gelegen in het midden van La Montesa. Hij wordt van de Viura druif gemaakt en de gemiddelde leeftijd van de stokken is twintig jaar. De bodem bestaat uit kalksteen en klei. De opbrengst van de stokken wordt laag gehouden. De oogst is handmatig en de selectie streng. Gedeeltelijke ontsteling, inweking gedurende acht uur en vervolgens vinificatie in ovale eiken foeders. De jonge wijn ontwikkelt zich nog negen maanden op de droesem.De smaak van de enige witte wijn van Alvaro Palacios
Plácet, wat 'instemming' betekent, is prachtig strogoud van kleur, met verleidelijke aroma's van oranjebloesem, witte peren, gouden appels en versgebakken brioche. Vol van smaak, met een perfect uitgebalanceerde zuurgraad, deze wijn bevat sappige smaken van witte perziken, romige honing en zachte mineraliteit, samen met subtiele hints van kamille en venkel.Shipping Notes

Extremely thorough yet easily readable...
Format: Kindle
Describing this book as thorough is an understatement. The title starts off with a bold claim, one that might seem skeptical, but the authors actually delivered. I'm beyond impressed, to say the least.
I've had my nose in this book off and on all day and yet I'm still only exactly 33% through it. I'm not even sure I can say I'm reading this book. It's more like I'm studying it.
Chapter 6 in particular rang a bell. "Buy on the fringe and wait. Buy land near a growing city!" This reminds me of an approach I know and love which is self-titled "the borderlands strategy." Hello places like Frisco, TX / Dallas suburbs.
This book is a masterclass in professional, knowledgeable people offering an extremely high-quality product at a great price. There are even enticing offers at the end of each chapter, which is something marketers (and real estate individuals) can really take note of. (Lead gen.)
So many good things to say. Probably the most concise way of doing so is by saying it really is a real estate bible, yet is still easy to read. No complex terms or challenging math. No walls of text. (Examples that do include math are straightforward and easy to follow.)
Great buy that has been extremely enjoyable and thought provoking. Can see myself referring back to this constantly for years and years.

Solid breakdown of real estate investing for beginners
Format: Kindle
Aye, this book actually surprised me. It’s super beginner-friendly and doesn’t just throw a bunch of complicated real estate jargon at you. I think in Chapter 5, they covered creative financing options, which I found pretty dope. There’s a part where they explain “subject-to financing” basically, how you can take over a mortgage without making a new one, which could mean little to no down payment. Didn’t even know that was a thing.
The book also lays out step-by-step strategies for getting started, from choosing a strategy to closing deals. Some parts felt a little surface-level, and I kinda wish they went deeper into financing for people with bad credit, but overall, it’s solid.
If you’re new to real estate and want a simple, no-BS breakdown, this one’s worth checking out.
