The Life Support is a versatile all-analog preamp set to uphold a high-fidelity tonal standard for every setup. With a robust setup of tone-shaping controls, the Life Support features a number of angles from which to attack exciting preamp and drive sounds. The Life Support's Preamp control fires up the gain of the overdrive that ranges from a sparkling, squeaky-clean preamp boost to a tube-like, edge-of-breakup drive to a beefy, compressed distortion. In addition to the Volume control, the baseline of the Life Support is easily harnessed and worked into a variety of setups. Top and Bottom frequency tone-shaping controls compound on making the Life Support expressively shapable.
Building up from there, the Life Support features a unique Clipping control that allows players to mix through two clipping options. Fully clockwise, the Life Support utilizes LED clipping for a softer, more transparent tone – a MOFSET and JFET combo for a harder, more compressed tone at the inverse. The Clipping control interacts closely with the Preamp control as the pedal produces a vast spectrum of sonic remedies. Finally, an onboard Boost circuit drives the front end of the overdrive with a dedicated level control dial and footswitch. This Intensive Care Audio device features a soft-touch relay-based true bypass footswitch and standard nine to eighteen volt DC power operation.
