Die Hard: The Nakatomi Heist Board Game sees the classic late '80s action movie in tabletop format! This is a one-versus-many game, where one player is lone cop John McClane (Bruce Willis in the movie). The other players take on the role of Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) and his terrorist goons. McClane's target is to foil the thieves' plans and save the hostages. Hans and co. want to eliminate McClane or open that elusive vault full of money! The John McClane player has a bunch of 'Act' cards. The Thieves have a combined deck of action cards and each get a hand of three cards. Hand management plays a big part here. If McClane runs out of cards (by getting shot or punched too many times), its curtains for him!The game starts on the Act 1 board with objectives and hazards in place. There's coloured minis too, signifying John and the Bad Guys! Each of the cards has memorable quotes and scenes from the film, as well as actions on them. McClane plays one, and the Thieves play one each (so they play a total of three) without communicating. McClane's cards feature actions such as Sneaking or Moving around the board. Other actions include Punch and Shoot (he needs line of sight to do so). McClane's aim is to complete his objectives and move onto his 'Goal' space. Achieve this, and he advances within Nakatomi Plaza. When he does so, a new Act board gets set up with new Goals, new hazards and new objectives. Like a movie, this game has three acts to it! The Thieves' cards get arranged into numerical order. This establishes which cards provide the Thieves with which actions for that turn. The first and third cards contribute towards trying to crack the seven combinations to the hi-tech vault. The FBI shut down the power to the vault in Act 3, so they're against a timer! The middle card provides the Thieves' actions for the turn. (Moving, or trying to attack McClane.) Die Hard: The Nakatomi Heist Board Game provides all the ingredients to play out your favourite scenes from the movie! Now you have a machine gun. Ho, ho, ho...Player Count: 2-4 PlayersTime: 60-90 minutesAge: 15+

Very Interesting and Well-Written

This is a very interesting and well-written book that discusses philosophy as well as psychology, while also providing numerous vignettes from actual cases, that demonstrate the implementation of the author's ideas. Highly recommended.

This is a really great book.
Format: Hardcover
I am a layperson so those who read this review should consider that. I have read this book slowly, very slowly and as a layperson have found it to be so very, very enlightening. This material has such depth and there were sections that I read that caused me to put the book down and consider what I had just encountered. Life is not a simple journey especially when we pick up so much detritus on the way. For years, I knocked on so many variously colored doors - entering and finding myself wanting...not them, mind you, but myself. Reading this - pointed me to a gate that swung open to a garden area, albeit, very overgrown, untended. It is here now that I work - some of what I thought were weeds are not. Some of what I thought were flowers are not. I just want to be free and am willing to accept that responsibility. Thank you, Dr. Yalom....you sage of my generation.

Listed as good, came like new
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
I tried to cancel my order when I saw the negative reviews of water damage (only a couple, but the book was a more expensive textbook so I didnt want to risk it) but it was too late. Luckily the book came looking practically brand new. It was listed as "good".

Wow!
Format: Hardcover
This text is so fascinating. I was hesitant to make this purchase based on the price alone, but it is so worth it if you want to understand Existential Psychotherapy. Yalom, as many will already know, is a titan in the field of existential psychotherapy. This is a text that is from one of the fields most well-respected experts. Its also filled with a lot of content which makes the price tag certainly worth it. You'll likely walk away feeling like you got your money's worth and much more. Highly recommend
