Starting at square one with a semi-hollow mahogany body with an asymmetric top bevel, the S2 Vela Semi-Hollow is notably light and acoustically resonant. This model’s unique offset, double-cutaway shape is one-of-a-kind and distinctly PRS. The mahogany body is matched with a set, scarfed mahogany neck in a PRS Pattern Regular shape. Lined with a twenty-two-fret rosewood fingerboard, the full experience of the neck comes together as speedy and outfitted for easy trips across the entire scale. Classic PRS Birds fret inlays line the rosewood for that unmistakable PRS visual stamp.

This PRS S2 Vela Semi-Hollow is outfitted with a unique and dynamic PRS pickup configuration. Loaded to the pickguard and with many musical horizons in sight, a PRS DS-01 pickup in the treble position produces a punchy and punky tone. This first pickup is matched with a PRS Narrowfield pickup in the bass position to further widen the palette of sounds available. A push/pull tone control allows players to split the DS-01 to incorporate authentic single-coil tonality and get even more sonic mileage.

A refined PRS hardware setup lands on this guitar for a fully realized musical experience. Throwing back to PRS's past, a plate-style bridge lands on this model, harkening to early top-loading PRS bridge designs. This bridge design features two brass saddles and a steel plate to compensate for intonation and provide ease in stringing. PRS’s low mass locking tuners contribute to this guitar’s total stability to solidify a consistent sound and feel across the whole instrument.
