Rooted in Ibanez’s late-’80s design language, the RG550 from the Genesis Collection delivers high-performance precision and expressive potential in a modernized form. The basswood body offers balanced tonal character with a slight emphasis on upper mids, making it a versatile platform for both clean articulation and saturated gain tones. Paired with a 5-piece Maple/Walnut Super Wizard neck, this guitar prioritizes speed, comfort, and accuracy across all 24 jumbo frets.

A bolt-on construction supports snap and clarity, while the flat 430 mm maple fingerboard enhances percussive attack and note definition. The V7 (ceramic) neck pickup is tailored for crisp leads and tight rhythm work, while the S1 single-coil in the middle position adds glassy, strat-like tones. In the bridge position, the V8 (alnico) humbucker offers warmth and definition with enhanced sustain, ideal for solos and riffing alike. All pickups are accessible via a 5-way selector that unlocks multiple coil combinations.

The Edge tremolo system brings reliable pitch modulation and rock-solid tuning stability, supported by a 43 mm locking nut. Black dot inlays provide a classic aesthetic contrast to the Desert Sun Yellow finish, and the guitar is designed to excel both in studio tracking and on stage.

My last Timex and why.
Color: Black/Gray/Digital, Color: Black/Gray/Digital
New edit. Upon further reflection, I’ve only had, a couple of exploratory years with Swatch excepted, Timex watches. My first one was when my mother replaced the Chicita Banana “tickity tock” sticker with a real Timex wind up watch before my first Cub Scout camp. In addition to many other Timex products, I’ve had these Ironman watches for the past 25+years. Usually the band wears out and can’t be replaced after three or four years. This particular watch fell apart less than six weeks old. It wasn’t hit by impact. It just came apart while I was driving down the road. I wonder if they’ve changed their manufacturing process. See photo for details. What is truly infuriating is that rather than replacing it, because it is truly a warranty issue, the told me to ship it to their offshore repair facility (which could take 3-5 months) and pay what might be half the value of the watch. Things happen, but the intentional friction they have created to avoid their obligations borders on malpractice and speaks to their indifference toward customer experience and subsequent lifetime value.

As expected
Color: Gray/Gray/Digital
Just an old school digital timex. Tried and true. Has both 12hr and 24hr function on the time setting. Has a standard stop watch and timer. The battery is great, just as it always is on a timex. Good water resistance and very easy to use. Overall very good watch for the price!

Can’t read numbers
Color: Gray/Gray/Digital
Numbers are too small to tread on a 44mm watch
