This sofa is perfect for those looking for a low-lying seating area. It sits on legs, that have been carved from mahogany wood to provide a strong and secure base. The main body has been upholstered with a highly elegant floral fabric,  known as Damask. This style originates from Damascus, and is made by contrasting a plain and satin weave in order to create a lustrous, almost 3D effect. This become a popular feature on sofas during the last 19th century, as they evoked a sense of opulence.      

This piece manages to capture the timeless charm of the victorian era, without compromising comfort.
