David Grissom and Paul Reed Smith's creative relationship goes back decades. As a touring artist, Smith would frequently tap Grissom for his opinions on how his guitars performed on stages all around the world, night after night. In turn, Grissom's unique insights on the trials of touring would inform PRS models moving forward. The PRS DGT Semi-Hollow is a unique vision of Grissom's outlook on electric guitars.

This signature semi-hollow begins with a classic double-cutaway PRS body. Iconic in so many ways, this body comes together with a mahogany back and a PRS Artist Grade figured maple top. Decked in a sleek high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish and fitted with a single F-Hole and a PRS violin carve, this body is designed for maximized mobility and comfort while delivering rich, resonant semi-hollow tonality.

For performance night after night, this PRS brings on a one-piece mahogany set neck in a custom PRS DGT profile. The custom profile carries a slightly thicker shape moving from the first to twelfth fret, from about .84" thick at the first to .95" near the twelfth. Made for smooth travels with a bit of that vintage fullness, this neck plays like a dream. A rosewood fingerboard joins in at this juncture with twenty-two frets laid out across a classic PRS ten-inch radius. This board, its frets, and its flatter, more modern radius feel, is primed for performance. What's more, custom PRS Moons inlays feature a unique crescent design for that added visual flourish.

What would a PRS be without some humbucking heat, am I right? Luckily, the PRS DGT Semi-Hollow's got plenty. For its voice, this PRS loads in two custom-designed PRS DGT humbucking pickups.
