Tasting Notes

Appearance

Bright pale gold with green hues and brilliant clarity, showcasing the wine's quality and freshness characteristic of this exceptional 2025 Eden Valley Riesling from selected vineyards across High Eden Flaxman Valley, Angaston and Springton.

Aroma

The bouquet leaps forth with intense aromas of fresh limes, passionfruit and rosewater; complemented by spicy undertones of fennel seed and star anise. The evocative summertime scent of rain falling on warm slate creates a sophisticated aromatic profile.

Palate

The evocative summertime scent of rain falling on warm slate transitions onto the elegant yet assuredly structured palate; educing a foundational slate-like minerality running beneath the punchy flavours of freshly squeezed lime juice and elderflower cordial. The tightly wound acidity, which is a hallmark of both the region and the 2025 vintage, drives the length of the palate drawing through to a fine, crisp finish; whilst the flavours linger lusciously in the mouth long after the wine has gone.

Pairs With

This elegant Eden Valley Riesling pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, sashimi, grilled fish, Asian cuisine, goat's cheese or light salads, with the wine's tightly wound acidity and slate minerality making it an excellent choice for seafood and sophisticated dining experiences.

Eden Valley is renowned for Riesling of elegance, perfume and minerality; and the 2025 No.4 is a classic example of this unique style.

Reviews

"Tightly wound and pure aromas of lemon pith, grapefruit rind, slate, passion fruit, fresh herbs and white flowers. The palate is sharp and focused, with bright acidity and a firm line of minerality carrying notes of mandarin and chalk. The finish is both electric and precise. Excellent. Drink or hold."

97 Points & Top 100 Wines of Australia - James Suckling

"Riesling sourced from the High Eden subregion of the Eden Valley and produced by that freak of riesling John Hughes. High-tensile and wonderfully focused as always. There are aromas of freshly juiced limes, green apple and grapefruit with a dab of soft spice, crushed quartz, sliced fennel, orange blossom, Christmas lily and ozone. Tightly coiled, with a crystalline focus, it zooms across the palate, leaving a limey wake. Finishes bone dry, nervy and lip-smacking."

95 Points - Dave Brookes, Halliday's Wine Companion, Published 03 November 2025

"No.4 could be No.1 if it tried harder, though it doesn't really need to. This is ballistic drinking at the price. Tight, racy, skeletal, all the lemon verbena, lemongrass, pickled ginger, the piercing thrust of saline minerality, the brittle finish with all its speckles of almost fizzing, mouthwatering quartz and crystals. A touch of tropicals here, some green apple too. Perhaps just a touch washy, but the enthusiasm for drinkability is righteous here."

93+ Points - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front, Tasted October 2025

Smaller and more expensive than artisian deskmats
Color: Black
These are slightly smaller than the standard artisan deskmats and double the price.. It's also about half the thickness, so there's not as much padding. This isn't a huge deal. if the felt is on the bottom, it doesn't grip to the desk very well. The wireless charger is okay, but I found it bulky. Having a small dedicated 3 in 1 charging stand was more convenient for me. If you have a heaver mechanical keyboard, you won't be able to lift this thing to see underneath it. Overall, this is an okay deskmat and it'll serve it's purpose when I'm washing my regular deskmat, but not my favorite.

Don’t bother, not worth the $
Much smaller in person than it appears. Looks more like a piece of coral than a tree. I got this to display some ornaments for sale at craft fairs, but it’s so small, it looks silly with the ornaments on it. Super flimsy, made of cheap plastic. Definitely not worth $14. Will be returning.

Cute
Just as described, perfect for putting rings and bracelets on. I put lines on the branches to resemble a birch tree . Its good value for the money
