Art and About is not the average "paint party" service. Workshops are delivered by a registered Visual Art teacher and artist. Extensive experience and expertise means you recieve a quality service.

Explore your creativity with paint, stencils and paint pens to produce a beautiful still life painting. 

Do you need any painting experience? NO!. Christina, a teacher and artist with over 25 years experience will guide you.

WHERE ARE THE PAINT PARTIES HELD?

Sessions can be held in the privacy of the Art and About studio Indooroopilly or at a venue of your choice. We take care of the set-up and clean-up. No mess, No hassles!

WHATS INCLUDED

  • Tuition for a minimum of 10 participants

  • Delivery of a face to face 2.5-3 hour workshop 

  • All materials and equipment supplied includes- (Cloths, Easels, Paint Brushes, Acrylic Paints, Aprons, Water Cups, Paper Towels, and Canvas)

  • Mobile event pre-workshop preparation.

  • Workshop set-up 

  • Post workshop clean up and pack up 

  • A team of support staff

COST

The cost is $750 per party for minimum of 10 people

Each participant over the minimum spend of $750 is $65

A travel fee may apply

Private Event Requirements-What Do I need to supply?

You will be required to provide glassware, tables & chairs. We will need a small space to set up equipment, an area for the teacher to demonstrate, access to running water and power at the venue.

BYO drink and nibbles.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the session start time as workshops will begin at the designated time. 

Delayed starting time will incur an additional fee of $30 per 30 minutes

SESSION CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULES

Booking Policy for ALL Private Events.

To secure the booking $100 deposit. Private events run for 2.5 hours and we can generally adjust your start and end time a bit if you give us notice.

All ages are welcome for private events.  At least 1 week notice before date for cancellation or non-attendance of students. Sessions can be re-booked if you tell us ahead of time.

Fee structure - charges and payment based on final numbers confirmed 7 days prior to the event. To cover equipment and preparation time, if numbers are less at the event the original booking fee still applies.

Countee Cullen chapter
Format: Paperback
This book is a great read. I’m not even sure how to encapsulate my thoughts on it, but let me say the chapter, “Jesus,” on the poetry of Countee Cullen is brilliant and a masterclass on discipleship, suffering, identity, projecting onto Jesus. This one chapter could literally be a course in Christian discipleship handling multiple aspects of the life of faith. I feel like I’m not doing the chapter, the book, or Claude Atcho justice here, but I deeply recommend this book and urge readers to really sit with the Cullen chapter and all its implications. What a gift Claude Atcho has given us here!

An exceptional, stunningly beautiful, and greatly needed book
Format: Paperback
Have you ever finished a book so heavy with truth and beauty and goodness that you don’t know how to sum it up? That’s where I am upon completing Claude Atcho’s Reading Black Books: How African American Literature Can Make Our Faith More Whole and Just. I’m the sort who marks up books with notes, underlining, and asterisks. Pages with ideas I want to return to get a folded corner. For this book? More pages are folded than not and a flip through the book reveals copious amounts of fuchsia markings. Full disclosure: Claude is a writer friend; we’ve chatted about faith, books, work, writing, and podcasting. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of his book, knowing it would be fantastic. You might think I was biased in that assumption, considering our previous connection, considering I received an ARC from Brazos Press. What I found from the first pages was even more than expected: my friend as pastor, shepherd, prophet, counselor, guide. Claude features 10 key creative African American works to cast a vision for human flourishing rooted in the power and love of God found in Jesus Christ. Just listen to this moving excerpt: “Healing is found in the constant individual and communal turn toward the tender mercies of God, who calls us to a theological remembrance: to locate our history in his, to make sense of our memory in his memory, to process our wounds in his wounds” (126). This book is beautifully written, theologically robust, and desperately needed. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is stunning.
