Our Velvet Dalmatic collection is inspired by a piece of a 15th-century velvet dalmatic. A dalmatic is a tunic with wide sleeves worn as part of liturgical vestments and by British monarchs during coronation services. Velvets like these were originally woven on a special loom that created two thicknesses at the same time in order to achieve their marvellously soft texture and high pile. It was an expensive and painstaking procedure, making velvet one of the most highly prized luxury fabrics of the Renaissance.The original velvet panel reproduced here was given to the Metropolitan Museum of Art as part of the Rogers Fund in 1945. It was one of a pair that was once owned by Marczell von Nemes, a Hungarian art financier, collector and dealer. This particular design is patterned using brocaded gilt metal thread in a seven-lobed shield outlined with teardrops, an artichoke-like botanical shape and tiny floral patterns.

These would compare to Sparkle brand. Every sheet was very absorbant. I tried these because they were cheaper. I didn't know what to expect. They were just plain white, looked clean while sitting upright just plain. They come with select a size. I thought they were great!

MY CHIHUAHUA WON'T GET OUT OF THIS BED! she loves it! from the first moment we brought it in and put it on the floor. she gently scratches at the sides and cuddles in with her blankey and likes she's not there. ohhh... great value for the price! nice size, big enough for both of my chihuahuas to lay in comfortably. soft, but very sturdy sides, the bottom is fluffy, padded very well. the outside bottom, there is a non stick covering so the bed doesn't scootch around on tile floor, it stays put.

I've had this bed for 5 years and it is still in great shape. Washes up in the washing machine just fine. My littlest dog absolutely loves it and is lost when our other bigger dog steals it. She barely fits in it but she loves it too. Ha! Good quality at a good price. Couldn't ask for more.

My Puppy Loves It.

I didn't know what to expect when I saw this advertised, but some reviews said that their puppy had chewed on it and it was still holding up with no holes. So, I decided to get it and see for myself. I have to say that my puppy loves it and chews on it and it is holding up very well. No holes yet and I suspect after all her chewing and no holes, there won't be any. Nice size for a 25 pound dog and smaller. Well built and nice looking bed. It has enough padding to make it soft for my puppy. I got it big enough, so she can grow into it, too. Well satisfied and I do recommend it.
