Oblong Royal 8vo. Original red pebble-grained cloth, ornamented and lettered in gilt; pp. [2], 16 photographic images on eight leaves of plates; binding a little rubbed with loss of parts of the gold, internally very good.

Very rare first edition of this pictorial celebration of the 1901 tour of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York, the future King George V and Queen Mary. The Royal Couple traveled on board HMS Ophir, a steamer specially commissioned for the Tour, and wrote an account of the sights and festivities which greeted the yacht at each destination. 'At Singapore, Maxwell [an accompanying journalist] details the rapturous celebrations upon the arrival of the Royal Couple, remarking on the colourful decorations in the streets of the city and the regatta held to honour the party as they departed for Australia. At the time, the Tour was the largest undertaken by a member of the Royal Family, covering 45,000 miles in seven months' (Royal Collection Trust, online).

The only other copy we were able to locate is in the National Library of Singapore.~i~

Perfect Salt & Pepper Grinders
Size: 2.5" x 5.1"
Excellent design, size and function, plus they have CLEAR PLASTIC TOPS so you can easily see how much ground salt or pepper you have to sprinkle on your food. After using my first set I knew I needed another set for different combinations of pepper corns in particular. Oh, and they come with an extra set of ceramic grinding wheels (yes, ceramic, not plastic as a few reviewers falsely claim). Very smooth operation and adjustable from fine to coarse sizes. Here's my recommendation for use. First, use quality coarse salt and whole pepper corns. Second, don't grind with lid off over hot steaming food while cooking because the steam will negatively effects the salt and pepper in the grinders, the grind quality you get, and will ultimately clog the grinders. Just grind with lid on until you get the required amount (hence the need for the clear caps), open the caps and sprinkle. Easy peasy... ☺
