How to Die Cut 5-Color Carpenter’s Wheel Blocks:

For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller. Tip: The die is specially designed to cut one complete 5-color 18" block in one pass through the cutter.

  • Fabric Color 1: For 16 A shapes: Cut three 23 1/8" x 2 7/8" rectangles. Place right side up over shapes A to cut. (There will be two extra shapes.)
  • Fabric Color 2: For 8 A shapes: Cut one 23 1/8" x 2 7/8" rectangle. Place right side up over shapes A to cut. Cut two extra shapes by placing a 9 1/8" x 2 7/8" rectangle over two A shapes to cut.
  • Fabric Color 3:
    • For 8 A shapes: Cut one 23 1/8" x 2 7/8" rectangle. Place right side up over shapes A to cut. Cut two extra shapes by placing a 9 1/8" x 2 7/8"rectangle over two A shapes to cut.
    • For 8 B shapes: Cut one 11 1/4" x 4" rectangle. Place right side up over shapes B to cut. Cut two extra shapes by placing one 4" square over two B shapes to cut.
  • Fabric Color 4: For 16 B shapes: Cut three 11 1/4" x 4" rectangles. Place right side up over shapes B to cut. (There will be two extra shapes.)
  • Fabric Color 5:
    • For 8 B shapes: Cut one 11 1/4" x 4" rectangle. Place right side up over shapes B to cut. Cut two extra shapes by placing one 4" square over two B shapes to cut.
    • For 8 C shapes: Cut two 5½" squares. Place right side up over shapes C to cut.
    • For 16 D shapes: Cut four 6 1/8" x 3 1/4" rectangles. Place right side up over shapes D to cut.

Why Quilters Love the GO! Carpenter’s Wheel Die:

  • Carpenter’s Wheel is a Block on Board® (BOB®) die which means it’s specially designed to cut one 5-color, 18" block in one pass through the cutter.
  • No templates! No special rulers! Carpenter’s Wheel includes 20 shapes that are time-consuming to cut by hand.
  • Carpenter’s Wheel features specialized dog-ears and ¼" seam allowances for easy alignment and piecing.
  • Carpenter’s Wheel includes screen printed letters on die for easier piecing and organization of shapes.
  • Free pattern downloads and step-by-step block assembly instructions are available to get you started.
  • Fat Quarter-friendly
  • Do you EQ? If you have Electric Quilt® software, you can use it to create your own Carpenter’s Wheel designs from their block library and cut your fabric.

AccuQuilt Benefits:

  • Cut so much more fabric in less time.
  • Get accurate cuts every time -- No slipping rulers or mistakes
  • Easiest to use -- Simply place die on cutter, then fabric and cutting mat on top
  • Save fabric with Two Tone Foam -- Get more out of your fabric by placing it only over the shape you want to cut.
  • Safe to use -- No blades come anywhere near your fingers

Die Tips:

  • With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors.
  • Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle.  Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board.
  • Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
  • It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.

This is my middle school daughter’s favorite book.
    Format: Paperback
My daughter usually reads only graphic novels, but she started reading chapter books after this one. She loved it so much that she’s read it several times, and since it’s a series, we bought and read all the other books too. It’s a great book for middle school girls—easy to get into and very engaging.

Perfect Combo of Fun and Serious
    Format: Kindle
This story was the perfect combination of humor and seriousness. I, even as an adult, remember some of those same feelings and the drama of junior high years. It made me take a look even at myself and ask what I look for in people? It made me ask myself if I need to reach out and apologize. But it also ales me want to do better. Step away from social media. When on social media, make sure I think about my comments and how they can be construed or make people feel. Help my nieces and nephews compliment actions and other such areas and not looks. To look deeper into a person. Well written. Lots of fun. And just what I needed in a book. Chad Morris and Shelly Brown do it again.

Great book with great lessons I want all my kids to learn.
    Format: Hardcover
A fun book about kids going to “virtual” school during the pandemic, but like, the coolest virtual school I’ve ever heard of. They use VR headsets to attend from the comfort and safety of their own home, and because it’s a digital world, they have the opportunity to re-invent themselves with customizable avatars. Some go as themselves, some simplify, and some go all-out for reasons that come out as the story progresses. As three students learn to navigate a new school, new friends, and new challenges they learn life lessons that I wish I could drill in to my budding teenagers. This was a fun, quick story that I’m enjoying reading to my middle grade children. I finished it on my own after bedtime because I couldn’t put it down. My eyes may have leaked a few times, but knowing Chad and Shelly’s other wonderful books, it didn’t surprise me in the least that I was so moved. 4.5 stars because some of the VR descriptions don’t mesh with real life VR capabilities (i.e. the motion sickness that would have plagued every kid the way the games/classes were described), but bonus points for the imagination and creativity in creating the school we all wish we could have attended. (If we couldn’t get in to Cragbridge that is…) 😉👍🏻 Thanks for another great book that I’m eager to put into my kids hands.
